Tourist Visa expiring next week over here, advice needed

Featured Replies

We finally found the right nanny for our baby. She is from the Philippines and we are more than happy with her. Right now she has a tourist visa that will expire next week. I am very concern about this. She has the idea of getting a new tourist visa at Laos but i now about the rumors saying that it is not possible anymore. Are the rumors true? How can we proceed? What options does she have?

Thank you guys wai2.gif

She can still get a tourist visa but that would depend upon how many she has already.

Are you aware that what you are doing is illegal. She needs a work permit to work.

Thank you for your help ubonjoe. My wife is not Thai so it is impossible for us get her a work permit. It is true that you can not get two consecutive tourist visas anymore?

Even if your wife was Thai she could not hire your nanny legally.

Vientiane has been doing 3 in a row in most cases. A 2nd one would not be a problem.

Are the officers at the borders and airports allowing people in with 2 or 3 tourist visas back to back though?

Currently, most do and some at land borders in the south of Thailand don't.
