July 18, 201411 yr I've lived here a long time. First 11 years on work permit, then the last four on tourist visas. I'm worried about the new rules. I'm below retirement age, so that kind of visa is out of the question. I am in Thailand right now on a triple entry tourist visa from my home country (England). I have two questions: 1. Can I marry my Thai girlfriend on that visa? 2. After marriage, can I convert that visa to a Non-O marriage visa *without* leaving the country?
July 18, 201411 yr 1. Yes. 2. Yes if you have 400,000 baht in a Thai bank or 40,000 monthly income Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
July 18, 201411 yr You should also have 15 days or more remaining on your current entry. This allows a 90 day non immigrant entry which can then be extended on yearly basis and is only provided in that context - so be sure you are asking about conversion for marriage extension and be aware it most likely will have to be done in Bangkok. Although the extension can then be done in location serving area you live. Without financials you could extend 60 days on basis of marriage.
