Had To Laugh-3 Months To Get New UK Passport

Recommended Posts

Just as well I'm not in a hurry.

Passport is full-not a spare inch to to put a stamp.

So have to make an appointment at some office in Soi 13 to get a new one.

They email me back with appointment date nearly FOUR WEEKS away and inform you that you may have to wait 6-9 weeks for your new passport.

I know I've had a few beers already but thats 3 MONTHS including just waiting to get an appointment.

I think these people are a joke.

I applied May 2, got passport a few days ago, so 2.5 months wait.

The appointment process though was me suggesting 3 dates and times to them by email, I suggested 1 day after my email, and that was fine. Surprised to hear they told you 4 weeks. I mean, you should be picking the date, not them.

Link explaining how you suggest 3 dates and times, by email - https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports/y/thailand/renewing_new/adult

I'd email again with your dates, in case you got some confused member of staff?

I was at the office an hour or two, having to wait 4 weeks makes no sense. The crisis is in the UK, not Thailand.

Got a friend who applied for a new passport 10 weeks ago when the government website said 4 weeks turn around. He is still waiting, passport now expired and cannot even get an answer to when is it going to turn up. Hence 3 weeks overstay ..
