Unfortunately, with current technology there are no tests & possibly never will be to prove or disprove your questions.

The only way is by personal experience.

  • Live an ethical life.
  • Regularly sit in silence.
  • Introduce insight meditation to your sits.
  • Practice awareness in the present moment of body, mind, feelings, & the external until this is your default consciousness.
  • Enlist the support of fellow travelers.
  • Remain resolute.

Quote: Can Love be scientifically proven?

In terms of Buddhism I think "Love" is the wrong word.

Perhaps the Four Sublime Attitudes or Brahmavihara's and what they do for us are more apt.

Metta (Boundless friendliness): Diminishes selfishness, and ill will.

Karuna (Compassion): Diminishes cruelty and pity.

Mudita (Joy with others) Diminishes resentment and exuberance.

Upekkha (Equanimity) Diminishes indifference, craving, and clinging.

According to the teaching, feelings are part of a process of cause & effect.

The feelings we generate from contact in our world is colored by our conditioning (rooted in greed, aversion & delusion).

Insight meditation with Metta, Karuna, Mudita & Upekkha will lead to positive feelings and from these wise actions will result.

The ultimate benefit will be the diminishing of Ego, I, Me.

Sorry.

Jumped the gun on this one.

Very interesting presentation.

Great visionaries with a lot to teach & share.

What I wanted to convey is that despite they're model having great merit, I think they still theorize when they suggest Samsara (this life) is a virtual reality game.

That doesn't alter their premise that love (Metta, Karuna, Mudita, & Upekkha ) rather than fear (greed, aversion & delusion) is the way forward.

A difficult task in a world built on Greed, Wealth, Money, Power, Hatred & Fear.

This is actually the old mind-body duality argument in new clothes. What the biologist says about the nature of cells doesn't, in my opinion, substantiate the existence of a spirit which exists separately from the body. The science just doesn't support that assumption.
