Popular Post khunken
And next will they be going after some of the land deals a recently ordained monk was involved in? Get that property back and give it to the poor as intended? I am sure there are all sorts of properties the yellows acquired during their fleecing periods. Maybe statute of limitations up since they haven't won election in such a long time... Do you mean the ones he was supposed to have acquired with the protest supporters' donation money? The lie that had no basis in fact? The old 'But Suthep.......' diversion. You are sure..........all in your warped mind I'm afraid.
Popular Post mikemac
I doubt if even pipkins can bs his way out of this one. Tarit did the wrong thing, got caught out and is dealt with accordingly. As GJ said, game, set and match.

DrLom
According to Thaksinomics, Tarit did not encroach on forestry land, but the other way around. It's those d**n trees which go everywhere without respect for ownership laws or common decency. They should be demolished immediately. Reverse landology? ;)
Wombat6
If Power was connected to these homes, there should be evidence as to who paid the Power Bills. Which builder filed docuents for a building permit etc etc.....there would have to be some evidence somewhere to indicate ownership of the houses
Sawan Chan 7
The Shins lap dog gets a taste of real justice, I am waiting eagerly for news of Chalerm being brought to heel. That would make my year, then charge his son for that murder he committed with 22 witnesses.
oobar
And by the way what is our dear old pal Chalerm doing these days? Sitting in the back of his pink Bentley while connected to an IV cocktail of fine wine and ear medicine while talking to his Swiss banker? Probably crawled back under a rock somewhere -- and most likely will come slithering out again, covered in slime and spitting venom as usual.

But, this is small fry. Why can they not chase the big encroachment cases, I'm thinking of 1,000 rai stolen from a temple donation and now an elitist country club called Alpine? Come on Prayuth, this is the time to sort out Alpine before the 20 year statute of limitations expires(20 years because it is stolen temple land). Why concentrate on the Alpine Country Club, did they turn down your application for membership? Couldn't possibly be a Thaksin connection could it? Your recollection (if that is what it is and not just a rehash of anti Thaksin BS) of the circumstances surrounding the land that eventually became the Alpine Country Club is imaginative if nothing else. Even an anti Thaksin piece in The Nation blog provides a more accurate account of the land acquisition then your fanciful "1000 rai stolen from a temple donation" rant. ( http://blog.nationmultimedia.com/print.php?id=15288 ) If you want to rant at somebody, rant at Snoh Tienthong, who was Interior Minister at the time (under the PM, General Chatichai Choonhavan). Snoh ordered the Temple's inherited land (which the Abbot wanted to sell as it was not anywhere near the temple, Wat Thammikaramvaraviharn) to be transferred to the Mahamongkut Foundation, who were the new Inheritance Guardians appointed by Snoh. On August 21st 1990 the Alpine Real Estate Co.Ltd. and Alpine Golf and Sports Club Co.Ltd. bought the land off the Mahamongkut Foundation, paying 142 Million Baht. They developed the land into a Country Golf Club along with prestigious housing and then 8 years later sold the land to Thaksin for 500 million baht. What would you want the junta to investigate? However, in 2001 — after Thaksin's party won a general election but before he took office — Thailand's Council of State, the government's legal interpretive body, ruled that the original sale of land was invalid, because it had been ceded to a Buddhist temple in a will, and therefore was legally religious land and not allowed to be sold or transferred. And that is the whole truth of it... That land could not be sold or transfered, however it could have been rented out.. This is law in Thailand and Mr Thaksin knew that. Again he thought he is God. Popular Post rametindallas
So he owns the land, but doesn't know who built houses on it. Lordy, lordy, the BS this man expects people to believe is outstandingly sad. It was said: "He said the two home buildings, which are connected to land legally owned by former DSI chief Tarit encroached on the foothills of Pa Khao Sied-Ar national forest reserve." I read that as next to his land, not on it. 'proof of a road bring (being?) built from her property to the two homes.' No, sir, I do not own those luxury homes built on forest land adjacent to my legal land. No, sir, I did not see them built. No, sir, I have no idea when someone built those luxury homes that are accessible only from my land. No, sir, I have no idea who built those luxury homes that are accessible only from my land. No, sir, I did not know there was a road from my legal property to those illegal luxury homes. No, sir, I do not know how, or when, the only road, to those illegally built luxury homes, got built from my legal land. No, sir, I never saw anyone build or use those luxury homes next door, nor does any of my staff. No, sir, I have no idea how they got materials and workmen to the illegal site that is accessibly only from my legal property. No, sir, I would never do anything illegal. Mr. Tarit is a professional investigator. There is an awful lot if 'I don't know' from this professional investigator. All this can be explained by the fact that Mr. Tarit is also a professional liar.

rametindallas
New information from the 'other' English language newspaper: Workmen came in with trucks and removed all the timber (illegal wood?) the day before the destruction so there was nothing left to knock down, only some concrete slabs and debris. The Forestry Department said the owner of the luxury homes had identified him/herself to them but the department chief refused to name that person. It was also noted that there was no fence or anything to mark the border between the property belonging to Tarit's wife and the public forest land on which the illegal homes were located so that it seemed to be part of the same compound. A former Senator, Prasarn Marukapitak, said he was once a member of a Senate panel that investigated the encroachment five months ago and that the panel had requested the authorities question the owner but nothing was ever done. The best part of the whole story was when Mr. Tarit was questioned about the ownership of the homes. He said he could not 'meddle' in another person's affairs and say who own the house. Rich, coming from the 'Chief Meddler' for the Yingluck government. Will he get away, scot-free, with this?

webfact
INVASIONHomes encroaching on forest reserve torn downThe NationBANGKOK: -- TWO LUXURY HOMES in the compound of former Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tarit Pengdith's family estate in Nakhon Ratchasima province have finally been demolished. The demolition took place on the grounds that the structures encroached into a national forest reserve. Also, Tarit insisted this week that his family home was on legitimate land and that he was in no way linked to the demolished structures. The two houses shared a fence with property registered under the name of Tarit's wife Wassamon. "The demolition was completed on Monday evening," a villager said.Tarit had been at the helm of DSI for several years until the ruling National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) dismissed him in May.Earlier, photos of resort-like houses in his estate in Nakhon Ratchasima's Pak Chong district were widely circulated on the Internet, prompting authorities to launch a probe. As per the investigation, Tarit's wife does have proper title deeds for her estate, but the two houses in the compound were found to be encroaching into a national forest reserve.A source yesterday identified the owner of the demolished houses as another woman, adding that she had rented the land from someone else. The source added that the woman decided to tear down the houses as soon as she learned they were encroaching on forestland."She has informed forestry officials that the demolition is done," the source said.Aram Manchaona, a senior forestry official based in Pak Chong, said yesterday that the land in question had been rented by the Royal Forest Department, but the contract had expired several months ago.Meanwhile, a group of people yesterday submitted a letter to NCPO chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha complaining that Srisuban Farm was trying to evict them from their homes in Surat Thani province. The group, led by Jennarong Chukongkha, said they had bought the plots in 1983 and had land-rights documents. Srisuban Farm, owned by Suthep Thaugsuban, has sought the court's help in evicting Jennarong and several other villagers, saying it had bought the land from the Legal Execution Department in 2003.Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/Homes-encroaching-on-forest-reserve-torn-down-30240328.html[thenation]2014-08-06[/thenation]
