Why not just paid informers??

Why not, there's enough low life here that would be willing to snitch on their fellow foreigner, for the price of a Chang!

whats a fellow foreigner?

I'm all in favor or making light of a subject, sarcasm, banter and black humor. But this thread doesn't make it to the starting blocks, seems like it's mostly two dribbling posters who've lost the plot, sorry!

And good morning to you too sir!

You'd be surprised some will snitch for a can of Archer.

I could comment something really nasty about a really nasty "beer" brand from Holland, but that would be an off topic slur.

Suffice it to say that I am Belgian?

Sadly my chasing days are over.

I've learnt to run just slow enough for the girls to catch me now!

  Should Thailand Put A Bounty...

...on people like you? my answer is yes! bah.gif

That's particularly nasty Mr Naam, afterall, if all the illegal and blatant wrongdoers were dealt with quickly, the situation for people doing the correct things would only improve.

You are being nasty, take your medication and have a sleep.

there's nothing wrong dealing with wrongduers. what's wrong is the low-life demand putting bounties on them.

that's sickening!

But first introduce workpermits for bounty hunters.
If not, the hunters will be hunted by hunters who.....etc.

An 'exemption' would do.

Also previous law, enforcement experience would be a must, to keep wannabes or douchebags from becoming the hunters. wink.png or perhaps education and training courses for a fee, creating a whole new industry.

You can keep wannabes and douchebags out without requiring law enforcement experience. Besides, there are douchebag ex-law enforcers too, ya know (present company excepted)

The position doesn't have to be that of a gun-toting rambo like yourself.

I see a more subtle approach of the under cover spy.

The core idea is good though. Paid informant is likely better than commissioned bounty hunter.

Good idea Harry, stop professionally trained people from doing the job. Let's put grabs in charge of brain surgery.

Ex law enforcement have no need to be wannabes, they've already spent sufficient time satisfying any desire. wink.png

It's about getting rid of illegals and making a bit of cash.

I wouldn't want the job in any case, dealt with enough low life in the past to sink a ship.....but I'd love to see filthy low life's being rounded up and sent from the country.....makes the place more desirable again.

How many ex law enforcement in Australia are those who left when commissions into corruption were held...not necesarilly thrown out but left.  I speak as one who has a relative who left after the enquiry in one state..He was the deep throat...of course he went on a sideways promotion to a Commonwealth funded Law Enforcement job.  Not all law enforcement are corrupt (not maybe in money but in ignoring rules protecting the public)  but a fair proportion are.  Even worse is the natural tendency of them as the do see the worst of society to consider all are tarred with the same brush.  You say you do not want the job...but it is possibly these who have a need to be in a power enforcement position that would jump at it.[/quote]

There's a whole other discussion there, not without merit, what you are suggesting, I was just making sure you weren't having a go at me.

I think overstayers does not tops the doing good list but snitches are right at the bottom .... how deep can you sink?

depends on the fee

Only if a lot of violence can be used else the job is no fun. And for those of us who want to do this an SS style uniform would be a good reflection of what we are doing. Actually NSB style uniform would be better. They were the Dutch that cooperated with the Germans in WW 2.

Like any good military strategy it needs to be based on a two pronged attack.

Did you ever notice that it was the insecure little dweebs in high school that were always picked on by the popular kids who became law enforcement officers?

Something about a need to be in authority.

It's a disease. A mental illness.

I guess when they retire, they still have the need to be a bully.

It must be hell for these guys to be in Thailand if they can not carry a gun legally!

Maybe they feel have the authority to give themselves an exemption to that?

Thailand does need better law enforcement.

But not from over zealous use-to- bees from the old west or Mayberry!

They should enforce traffic laws and save thousands of lives.

It could generate a huge amount of revenue as as well....double parking, unsafe passing, unsafe speeds, what side of the road???

The fines would be a bonanza and the money could be put to good use increasing traffic law enforcement and improving road conditions.

Seriously, if you want to play cowboy, go to Arizona or Texas and help the Republicans protect the border from good, hard working people looking to improve their lives.

Nice try Barney!attachicon.gifDon_Knotts_Barney_and_the_bullet_Andy_Griffith_Show.jpg

Always use to amuse me when I worked and someone getting locked up would say something similar to your opening lines above.

Whilst I know it may be true with some law enforcement officers, you are casting a fairly wide net there.

Did it ever dawn on you that there's tons of low life giving the decent foriegner in LOS a bad name. Don't you think it would be a better place without that element?

Perhaps if you can't see these people around the usual places, then perhaps......<snip>.....well let's just say, there's no need to make this thread personal, that wasn't the OP's intention. I don't know you and you don't know me, we will leave it at that.

Some people here might like the low life element around but I don't. There's enough native low life in Thailand without importing the grubs. end of story really.

Don't forget the Gestapo they will be responsible for searching hard drives to make sure the are no Digital Nomads in the midst.

Is this a sneaky attempt to introduce Heineken "beer" into this thread?

It's seems you will take any attempt to insult, even with a poor veiled attempt.

It's a serious subject, however one doesn't need to split ones rectum over it. Try relaxing, deep breathing and reminding yourself, people are virtually allowed to discuss anything here, within reason.

Nah.. i prefer "Hoegaarden" ask people who know me. That is if I drink at all.. but I believe that if you get a bounty hunter job you should be drunk on the job to give the others a sporting chance .
