LHR T2 review

Featured Replies

My wife and I will be departing the newly refurbished T2 in November for Bangkok and wondering about the terminal facilities. We always arrive early and like to enjoy relaxing five or six hours with eating and drinking. T3 is well past its sell by date and hoping that we'll be spoilt for choice in T2.

I'm happy to spend £100+ for dining if it's worth it.

Would like to hear your review of the new T2.

My only experience of T2 was returning to it last month.

I have to say I was VERY disappointed. It was the longest walk from a landing point to Immigration I can recall anywhere, and another long walk to the Tube. I think the architect had worked on NHS hospitals in the 1960s - dire design from what I saw.

On the positive side, it was almost empty - next to no time to get through Immigration.

You have to walk from T2 to T3 to Passport control. Much longer walk.

I used it both ways in the last few weeks. It's a nice building and still very quiet. I was on EVA who leave from the satellite building at the end of the long tunnel. Fortunately there are moving walkways for most of the way. Check in and security were easy. Only gripe was that on the way back, it was easy for people to jump the passport queue while I was queueing. There are restaurants there and the usual duty free shops, but not much to occupy 5-6 hours.
