UN Understanding Exhibition

BANGKOK, 16 August 2014 (NNT) - The United Nations Association of Thailand in cooperation with international organizations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized a UN Understanding Exhibition to promote mutual understanding between Thailand and the UN and create an understanding of the Thai role, from a global point of view.

Yesterday, Manaspas Xuto presided over the opening ceremony of the UN Understanding Exhibition at the Museum of Siam in collaboration with international organizations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition was held to acknowledge Thailand as the 55th member country of the UN which will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2016.The event is aimed at encouraging Thai people to embrace the role they have by actively participating in three areas of responsibility in the UN partnership which are security and stability, environmental development and human rights.

To promote understanding with the UN....um, maybe going to the UN would have been more productive. Oops, no. This is another photo op, meant to encourage the people to march in place when ordered. This was for the Thais to tell each other how important Thailand really is.....yeah, right....

I'm sure some red shirt got the contract for this one.....

If this exhibit proves a success with the UN, maybe the Junta should consider doing the exhibit in South Thailand for the "ill-intended" Malay Muslims to further promote mutual understanding between Thailand and the muslims, and create an understanding of the Thai role, from a national point of view.

I personally believe, that the UN has a full understanding of Thailand, as many reports issued by them over the years concerning Drug Traffiking, Human Slavery, Organised Crime, and such other things as Corruption, will confirm.
