Was looking for a courier to send a document to Canada, and stumbled upon a consolidator like this one:

http://discountexpresscourier.net

Anyone used them or another consolidator before and can comment on reliability etc? Their rates are quite attractive. Question is are they reliable, i.e., ship the exact method and carrier they say they will.

Ok, after balking at b.3000+ rates quoted at DHL and UPS shops, I decided to give Discount Express Courier "DEC" a try (link in my OP). I am very happy I did. My package was delivered as expected at a much lower price.

Here are prices I was quoted:

(1.2 kg bundle of A4 documents (~3cm thick), exBKK 20Aug and all quoted delivery to Canada 22Aug)

DHL online b.3700 (by noon) or b.2600

DHL shop b.3300

UPS shop b.3000 (online price same)

FedEx online -- higher than all of the above; can't remember exactly

DEC b.1300

Huge difference! I was sceptical at first but went ahead with DEC anyway. I waited around to see the DHL guy pick up the package. He arrived within 20 minutes. After that I tracked the package until it was delivered on 22Aug.

The guys there are nice chaps. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, in case anyone is wondering.
