ebola is not epidemic ,it acts too fast.Once infected you don't walk for long and you die .

That's why it was always present in Africa,in the bush.Could not spread very wide.

But now air travel makes it possible to spread it everywhere,but it will not be epidemic because the host

Your post is is not only ridiculous and totally misinformed, but could actually be dangerous if others believe it.

As a medical professional, I look at the number of cases and mortalities and the data screams out "epidemic". If you plot numbers of cases/mortalities against time, it is a clearly a parabolic curve, which means that cases and mortalities are increasing exponentially. Such is the definition of epidemic.

Let's hope that this outbreak can be contained within west Africa. If it gets out, we will have a mighty battle on our hands.

How many people can you contact during that time ? You can spread Ebola by coughing, blood, saliva, semen, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. During the EHF phase of up to 20 days, leading to death or cure ( 20 to 30 %), you are still infectious. After death you are still infectious ! If you recover, you are still infectious for up to 2 months.

But the questions remain, how was he able to pass through Bangkok airport without their supposedly-adequate measures spotting that he had a high-fever, or aren't they looking at outgoing-people too, and why on earth did the Thai authorities have to ask Burma if any of their nationals had been on the plane with him ?

It was a flight from Bangkok, the chances were very high that there were Thai passengers too, and surely the AoT and the (un-named) airline would also have records of who was on the plane ?

According to the link below, the virus can only be transfered through body fluids right? So unless he has transfered his saliva, sperm, vomit etc to every woman/man he has been with on the flight and has seen since arriving in Bangkok its probably only him who has anything to worry about. It is not airborne in the same way as influenza is, but a cough or sneeze onto a surface will suffice enough if then touched by someone else, they rub their eyes, touch their mouth. Why do you think every doctor and specialist wears a full chemical body suit when dealing with infected people?

Last I checked, mucus is a bodily fluid. The virus may not last too long outside the body, but it will probably last for enough time for somebody to touch the surface and pick up the virus ... an escalator hand rail for example.
