Thanks. Exactly the place I'd seen them but couldn't remember. Bought one this afternoon for 2800.

Incidentally, should you have a decent engine on a rubbish old motor mower, they also sell decent looking decks for three or four thousand baht.

Yeah, nearly bought one, they quoted 3000 without the catcher, but when we went back several months later it was 5000 catcher included, no option without. Ended up buying a new briggs & stratton a couple of doors east of Montri at Chotana intersection on superhighway for 9000. btw my old engine is 10 years old, on its last legs, I guess & is good enough for the orchard side of our land. Deck held together with duct tape & wire.

perhaps you could put this shop where you bought the cart on your map. Sells everything from carts to tractors.

I'll add it to the map when I get a minute. I've found that using a catcher on anything other than a very small area is really a PITA and have a deck that does a fairly good job of mulching the waste. One of their decks claims to be a mulch/discharge type so if I have to replace it I'll give that a try. BTW I found a place to service B&S engines in town and that is on the map.

I've used that shop before for b&s, I think from your recommendation. Now I use youtube & parts I brought back from UK. Changing the diaphragm is very easy once you know how, even for non mechanical me. My old engine just needs the spark plug cleaning after each use. Might try again to see if I can get a 3000 bt deck.

B&S are crap engines. When it is time for replacing one get a Honda.

Just my long time experience...

Good for you. I'll stick with B&S

Ive found both B&S and Honda to be great engines..... albeit Honda are perhaps a bit more advanced on technology. All small engines need to be maintained with regular oil changes; not unlike diesel motors. They tend to last longer if looked after and back in NZ it was an unwritten rule that one does not lend out their chainsaw, lawn mower or wife if you want to keep them in good working order! smile.png

I was just told by a gardener using our (old) Honda brushcutter that the new Honda engines that are made here in Thailand are not up to the quality of the Japanese imports though whether that's just the import status thing or not, I don't know.
