Hi, are 30 day Visa-exempt Runs by air(Same day flight in/out) not allowed anymore? I need to stay an extra 19 days and I've already done a few land runs(which are now prohibited ofcourse). I was thinking of taking a flight out and coming back on the same day. Would they not let me back into Thailand? If so, how long would I need to stay out of the country? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can take the risk, otherwise you can get a 7 days extension, then on the 29/8 get another 30 days extension.

Fee bt. 1,900 each.

Oh really? I read about the 7 day extension, and the new change on 8/29(to get a 30 day extension) but I didn't think I could get a 7 day extension and then ANOTHER 30 day extension on top of that. Is that actually possible? Thanks for the quick response!

Yes it is possible because 7 days extension is given as a denial of other possible reasons but doesn't preclude you from applying again on 29/8 under new regulations.

And if you're denied on 29/8 just leave country or pay overstay, and I will apologize for having given the wrong advice.

The rules are the same by land or air. The are not prohibited at the border.

If you have stayed for the full 30 (or 15) days and go out and back to get another 30 days you fit the profile of in/out via runner and can be denied entry and/or asked to prove you a are here as a tourist. Showing 10k baht or a ticket out of the country may be needed.

Actually I'm leaving the country in less than a month, so providing a ticket out and/or 10k in funds isn't an issue. I guess I'm a bit confused because the previous replyer (pas) said that I could apply for a 7 day extension on Aug 25(when my current visa exemption runs out) and then go back on the 29th and apply for the new, longer 30 day extension when he new rule kicks in. I would prefer to do that simply because I wouldn't have to fly out or do any border runs. Any thoughts on that? Thanks I'm advance for any responses.

You could apply for the 7 day extension and get 7 days to leave and then apply for the new 30 day extension instead of leaving.

So visa runners don't gave to run anymore; all tgey fo is get 30 day extensions?

One time anyway they can get an extension without having to travel.

Just a heads up to everyone. I just got back from the immigration and was denied the 30 day visa-exempt extension because I had previously been granted the 7 day extension as outlined in previous posts. Turns out you can't apply for the 30 day extension if you have already received a 7 day extension/rejection. At least that's what the immigration lady told me. That sucks for me because my extension runs out Sept 1st and I actually am flying out Sept 12. Any ideas on how I can get an extra 12 days? Without overstaying ofcourse.

Would I be able to do it via a land border run? Or does it have to be by air?

i have been in the same situasion before, take a flight to kuala lumpur from don mueang airport, 1800 bath round trip ticket, the flight go from don mueang about 7pm and arrival kuala lumpur 11pm, the return flight departure back to thailand about 8am next day, only need to wait on airport 9 hours... boring but it works

Hmm..I checked on their website and I don't see any fares around 1800bht roundtrip. Cheapest in see is 1500bht per way, so over 3000 baht roundtrip. As for a land run, none of the visa run companies will do it if I already have previous stamps(because of the new regulations).

You probably too close to flight date to get/pick bargain costs.

3000bt not bad if only sensible option you got. Worth searching bit more for a bargain though.
