Has any American here started Medicare, Stopped it, then started it again?
Yes but the devil is in the details. They do little if anything automatically. One has to make requests. The key words are initial determination. If one pays too much for one year, I am sure based on my recent meeting, that nothing will happen without a person doing something. But, this is all new to me and I will find out as the years progress. I did just start my SSA. Figured at age 68 enough is enough. I will get 4,000 a month right now which is plenty for Thailand as needed. And I won't be touching any of my IRAs until the RMDs require it. They are doing quite well. My ROTH IRA of course will be tax free. My traditional IRA withdrawals will be taxable, which is fine. -

Well, travel costs money. If you can afford it, great. If you're single, otherwise the partner also has to be available to travel with you. It's not realistic to expect travel to cure your boredom unless you have deep pockets and not tied down to anyone. If you really prefer other countries, then consider leaving. How easy is it to get visas though? But now I am also starting to get into a routine where I'm hauling my butt to the gym. Sometimes life is boring and need to just follow routines. This just popped into my feeds on Youtube and I'll give it a watch. If you're not curious about anything ... then life is more boring. A lot of stuff available online if you are curious. Which is less effort and money than traveling. This guy made a fortune in Thailand ... then disappeared. -

My Spanish is only good enough to understand about half of what you wrote. It used to be better. But I would also choose Spain over the UK, as well as many other places. -

Trump's Summer Surge: Wins at Home and Abroad Mark a Golden Moment for the President That's truly a matter of opinion. Unlike those on the Left, I'm don't have a mind-virus that's triggered anytime I hear the word "Trump." However the dude is all over the map. Although I was hopeful that he'd implement more positive change then negative, imho, he hasn't. His foreign policy is a mess and he domestic policy is great for billionaires and the Trump family but will ultimately leave the average American saddled with a few trillion more in national debt. The health of the stock market or the value of crypto has little to do with the economic health of the country and the ability of its citizens to prosper. The America Dream for average, middle-class people is dead. Those days are over, and a lot economically hurting voter are going to hand the Democrats the Congress, governorships, and other public offices in 2026, and probably the Presidency in 2028 - not that they'll do any better - they won't. -
