Pattaya "checked" by top Police General

PATTAYA: -- On Wednesday a top Police General was in Pattaya to check local Police Divisions to see if changes requested 3 months ago to improve various aspects of Police duties had been enforced.

We caught up with Police General Wuthi, Senior Adviser to the Police Commissioner, at the Chonburi Immigration Office in Jomtien, where the General inspected the work of Immigration Officers paying particular attention to their Transnational Crime Center located on the Second Floor.

Earlier the General inspected the Pattaya Traffic Police Division and was pleased to see that Traffic congestion issues were less acute compared to 3 months ago. He mentioned that Chinese Tour Companies had spoken with the General and were particularly impressed with the improved traffic flow in Chiang Mai Province and he hopes that Pattaya will eventually follow suit.

Perhaps if the tour companies used smaller buses the traffic flow would improve. Those great big double decker ones they use around Pattaya's small streets are the cause of most of the congestion. Also the double parking while they let off the passengers is a nuisance to other road users. Big buses should be banned inner city and passengers should be transferred to mini-buses.

I live near a hotel that has Chinese tour groups. When a bus load arrives the whole street, both lanes, has to stop for ~5 minutes while the driver slowly negotiates to reverse into the hotel's soi narrowly missing the overhead power lines. Reverses in because he could never reverse out and there is insufficient space to turn around at the hotel.

Whew ! The headline really scared me as I thought this would be a " Cleanup Pattaya " purge forcing the " Even Blossoms " to flee, Pattaya to become " Family Oriented" destination, lechers to go elsewhere and Pattaya to, once again , become a fishing village

And they destroy the roads. See 2nd Road.

Same in Patong Phuket....the biggest bus that should be allowed on Phuket is a 20 seater...big rumbling bits of crappola constanly breaking down on Patong Hill becoming a menace to all
