New passport - when do I have to transfer visa/stamp to it?

Featured Replies

So I got the call from Trendy that my new UK passport is there waiting to be picked up. I will go and get it soon, I then need to have my current visa stamp transferred from my old passport to my new one correct? When do I have to do this? Chang wattana is miles away and I dont fancy a trip there, can I leave it until when I next go to do my 90 days?

You could wait until you do your next 90 day report.

The will not transfer your long expired visa they will only make an annotation of it along with the entry from it that you have been extending. They will transfer your current extension stamp.

Be sure you get a letter from the embassy before going to CW. They will ask for it.

Really? I never knew that, so I guess Trendy dont give you one of those?

Only the embassy does the letter. They are free and from reports they do not take very long to get.

I can't speak for Trendy and UK Passports, but the US Embassy gives you the letter with the new passport if they see you're on an extension of stay. You don't even have to ask for it. It's given for free as well. I'd imagine it's the same, as it's SOP!
