BANGKOK: -- It’s the cool air-conditioning through the magic door that opens when a human approaches, who occasionally sacrifice some of their Smokey Bites to the stray souls.

These are the reasons why dogs clog the doors of 7-Eleven convenience stores, according to conglomerate owner CP ALL, who announced a plan to provide care for their stray dog mascots.

Chuwit Kingkaew, senior managing deputy-director, said the company has started “Love Dog Community” project to give stray dogs in Bangkok and metropolitan areas the required vaccines such as rabies, mange and flea control.

They are probably being pre-emptive with possible law suits filed by animal activists, nothing will clog you up faster than a microwaved 'cheese bite'. :)

Cp should also consider then setting up a network of animal shelters , hospitals to castrate those dogs and keep em off the streets.

"Although the survey’s estimate of just over 1,000 dogs lounging at the nation’s 7,900 7-Eleven stores seems conservative, any effort to control the dog population by getting some of them fixed is welcome."

"Just over 1000 dogs lounging" What about the thousands of farangs ?whistling.gif cheesy.gif BTW Excellent move by CP.

Good for them. When i first came to Thailand ans seen all of these dogs outside the 7/11 i was a little bit nervous to go anywhere near them just incase they turned on me. I have to say though it has never happened in all the years i have been here and think that the store helping them is a great idea.

Please administer a contraceptive alongside the rabies, mange and flea control if you're really serious CP.

Back in khon kaen I spotted a chicken clucking his way round my local 7. That was a first.

So 7/11 going to help store dogs. Where are they going to store them, in the freezer?

What poor dogs you talking about? This one is in good condition and a/c that many Thai's don't have.

In Vietnan you never see stray dogs except on the menu.

Yep, there seems to be a merket for them, a helpful onward - ticket does the job.

Also Vientiane is pretty much dog free...wai2.gif

Eliminating a problem is more effective (and cheaper) than maintaining it! coffee1.gif

Lighten up mate......you make Victor Meldrew seem cheerful......

They are just lulling them into a false sense of security - there will be a lorry around later to take them for a nice trip to Vietnam with a bit of luck.

Also, who on earth wants to buy fresh food from a store riddled with those pox infected creatures?

Briandajew a nice trip to Vietnam with a bit of luck. / pox infected creatures

You lot really are a nasty piece of work. To hell with you.

CP are going to open Korean and Vietnamese restaurants near the current 711s so everyone will be happy

Hopefully you will be on the lorry as well

The headline does say 711 to help store dogs

So lets store them in a good place

Isn't the soi 7 beer garden already doing that?

Maybe do the same things to some of the horny old farangs. ;-)

"What about the thousands of farangs"

Any effort to get them "fixed" would be universally welcome too. After "fixing" the aforementioned farangs, do you suppose the left over bits would find a market in the donated organ sphere?

Poor things.

That particular group appear quite healthy.

There are some seriously unhealthy ones by the 7-11 near me.

There used to be a goat living there too, if you were foolish enough to leave your recent market purchases in your motorcycle basket it would have them.

Good for you CP. Also have them "fixed" so they don't create more 7-11 dogs
