Driver & mini van for trip

Featured Replies

There will be a group of us, 5 adults & 5 children with luggage for 2 weeks going on a trip to Prachuap Khiri Khan Province over the christmas from Pattaya & I am looking for a driver with van to drive us there, back & about.

Am I underestimating how much space we have & need 2 vans?

Where would I go about finding such a service & what kind of daily rates should I expect?

I know someone who did this from Chang Rai to Bangkok & Rayong return & they reckoned that they paid 2000baht a day all in.

That included fuel plus the driver found his own accommodation & food.

This seemed like a steal to me & I find it hard to believe

Some of the bigger vans can easily handle your entire group. 2k Baht/day is not an unreasonable amount. You'll have to shop around, but it's possible.

If you book him for the week or two, you can offer to pay for the gas your self, takes the "risk" off the driver of this cost.

That might be a good idea & sweeten the deal somewhat

This company has a silly name but actually are well run and competent. Several people I know have used them for van/driver rentals for multi day journeys.

One friend who used them last year said the van was almost new and spotless and the driver skilled and careful. They all have GPS onboard.

Rates were reasonable.

From Don Mueng to Rayong cost me 2000 tip included just for a taxi. 3hrs I think it was
