Can anyone recommend the best place to buy GBP in Hat Yai?

I fly out next Thursday and need some cash changed because I won't have a chance to exchange in BBK as I arrive there late at night and then catch my flight in the early hours.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Ouch .. I would try Bank Of Bangkok on Nippatuthit 3 or 2 ? 2nd Floor .. They seemed to be pretty clued up with currency and bankers drafts, but I have a feeling they will have to order GBP in, maybe they could do it asap for you.

Thanks for the info. I've been checking the exchange rates for all the different banks and Bangkok bank beats all the others.

I'll phone them on Monday morning and order some notes.

Another option. I'll give the hotel a call tomorrow to see if they have any sterling to hand.

I'd thought about the King Hotel but I'd forgotten about Yong Dee. Yes, as far as I can remember they gave a better rate than a bank.

It's a separate business to the Hotel, so they might not respond to your enquiry....

Go There, you will find it....and they had GBP last time i was there.

Don't worry weegee

I'll get the number even though it's a separate business. One thing to remember is that the Chinese stick together in business. Even if the front desk don't give out their number (very unlikely)I'll get a friend to pop in to get their number.

The Chinese usually give a far better rate than the banks. Less overheads and a small profit is better than no profit.
