Home cooking classes?

Featured Replies

Is there anyone who will come to my condo everyday to teach me how to cook? Thai food primarily, and also open to other cuisines.

Why does it have to be in your condo?

There are Thai cooking "schools" you can go to. You get to meet other participants, and eat what you have cooked at the end of the class.

Is 10,000B/mo reasonable? For 4 classes/week

I think I would learn better in "my lair" without the distractions of going to a class with other students. And I'd have the ingredients ready to make the same meal for myself again.

Where in Phuket are you? I have a Thai chef friend who might well be interested in this, but she wouldn't want to travel too far.

Just ask any of your Thai neighbours.

If I were you, I'd start of with the internet. I just tried typing "cooking Thai food" at YouTube and got about 159,000 results. After that, you may want to expand or refine your techniques and refer to a Chef.

There are some pitfalls to Youtube. #1 motivation. With this home coaching stuff boom, someone's going to show up and you better get with the program. Also, they can be made to get all the right ingredients and stuff. <deleted> going to the grocery store or supermarket to get every little thing that you forget. Also real practice makes perfect.

Did you just arrive from planet zob ?

Learn to cook ?

Learn to drive a motorcycle ?

How to employ a driver ?

Where to buy a cheap bike ?

Your staying in Rawai Condotel , just pop directly across to the Asia Bar and all of your needs can be cleared up in oh.... around 30 minutes .

Bikes , check.

Drivers , check.

Cooks , check.

Even get to have a cold one while your sorting out all your needs.

Gotta beat hitting the keyboard

How gracious of you to be negative about my suggestion. I probably would have considered the positive sides of it and been grateful that somebody has taken the time to try to help me rather than making a point of criticizing it. But you have your own style of doing things.

I now suggest that you completely ignore using the internet to get help doing the MANY things you apparently cannot do. I hope your negative attitude serves you well, and makes people want to help you, but probably not.

To be blunt waynethor, your suggestion was blindingly obvious.

Not for the first time I find myself questioning the term " advanced member".

Let me know if you don't find anything, I know lots of Thai chefs

Anybody can cook, you just need a good step by step recipe. I hate cooking, but that way I cooked for over 80 people on a number of occasions.

It has two meanings..........one of which is definitely true.

I can't cook either, or should I say, I refuse to cook, Yes I am lazy, and I do miss ready made meals and the likes from Europe..., especially Waitrose..... They are the best.
