Friendly Language School in BKK Offering ED Visa?

Featured Replies

A japanese friend wants to stay in Bangkok for one year on a Education Visa. She is a native japanese speaker and is interested in studying either thai or english language. She would like suggestions for a friendly BKK language school that offers a 1 year ED Visa. She does not have a lot of money so she is looking for a course with a reasonable fee. Anyone have experience with a language school in BKK?

No language school can offer a one year ED visa. They can offer a course of study that will qualify a person to get a single entry non-ed visa and 90 day extensions of stay for up to one year from the date of entry using the ED visa.

Perhaps it would be best if you looked at the Language school courses forum.

You said she does not have a lot of money. If she really want to stay 1 year she need to apply for a 1 year (180 hours) course which costs around 25.000 THB at most schools.

Also it seems that in near future you have to pay 4-5 times as much for the language classes to stay in Thailand with an ED visa because Immigration-rumors says that they want to implement that you need to study at least 25 hours per week if you want to say longer then 5 months in the country.
