Featured Replies

Considering a month long trip to India.Anyone done this fairly recently?Probably with my Thai girlfriend as she is interested. At the moment would likely be southern India as a first trip.Any recommendations or advice welcome. Chennai and south.

"From the frying pan into the fire" ! Lol!

Ok ....really...India is a nice place but there is great diversity. If you are planning to spend about a month...start with madras but later go to bangalore(bengaluru) and also visit Madurai...lots of beautifil temples at the beaches etc. Can u PM me your email...I will email you a list of places that you should not miss.

In India at present and would recommend Kerala as an introduction to India.

It's the state with the highest education in India and makes an easy place to start and offers beaches/canals/mountains and plenty more. Start in Cochin (Kochi) and enjoy the seafood and branch out when you are ready. Only bad news is no direct flights.

You'll both need visas.

Enjoy.

Assuming she is buddist you may want to go north.

kushinagar, Gaya, Bodygaya and more....

otherwise go to wherever interests you both

goindigo and spicejet have some good offers from BKK, and if you have UK credit/debit card you can buy from makemytrip and pay in £s and have no nasty charges

have fun
