Hotel In Krabi?

Just booked myself a flight to Krabi for the weekend. Can anyone recommend a hotel in a good location, don't need a pool. Budget at 1-2k.

Anything in Krabi worth checking out that you can recommend?

www.phrananginn.com Phra nang Inn Check this place out. It's right on the beach at Ao Nang which makes it convenient to take the smaller boats to other beaches (which I recommend you do) as well. You should be able to get a room by calling direct for about 1500. I stayed here last month and the rooms are clean and big. We had a deluxe room for 1800 which was huge. Decent buffet breakfast included and the place has 2 pools. It's also right by the shopping/restaurants/bars but not on top of them where you hear the noise at night.

Hotel has two wings. For a great meal go to a restaurant directly to the left about 40 feet as you come out of The Betelnut Wing. It's BBQ style with buffet both Thai and Western food for 150 baht. It's run by a German and his Thai wife. Great steaks and meats. You can't miss it as it's inside/outside seating with BBQ Grill on the sidewalk. Sorry I can't remember the name but we ate there 2 times it was so good. Further down the beach strip at the end and directly to the right is a great Indian restaurant. The only one we saw. Again the best Indian food had outside the UK. I thought it was better than Indian Hut here in Bangkok. More expensive but worth it. Again we ate there twice!

This was our first time to Krabi and I have to say we loved it and are now sold on it. Much more quiet than Samui and the people including the police are nicer. Check it out!

Returned last night from my weekend trip to Krabi. Firstly, thanks flightcrew1 for the recommendation, I stayed there and was pleased. Nice cozy rooms, well stacked fridge and the best bit was the view of the beach while eating breakfast! Wow! Wish I could have that view every morning!

I fell in love with Krabi, I only had 2 nights and stayed in Ao Nang. Went Canoeing during the day which was good fun! You could easily spend a week here and keep busy. Well worth a visit, very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Looking forward to going back soon!

Thanks Listenup! Yes I feel the same you did. After going to Samui and Phuket for years I just never considered Krabi and thought it was second rate. Boy was I wrong! Great place and lovely people and yes the view while having breakfast at the hotel is worth it! Not sure if you stayed in the deluxe room but treat yourself the next time if you staying longer as the rooms are huge! We've just booked for the Christmas holiday!
