Applying for another Visa after just finishing a Triple Entry Visa

Featured Replies

Is it possible to apply and get a 30 day visa or either a single entry visa, at a embassey in a neighboring country next to Thailand after just finishing a triple entry visa

Example:

You go to Thailand and you complete all 3 entries on your visa, so your visa is now finished and you have to leave the country, but instead of heading home ( UK) , you fly to a neighboring country next to Thailand and stay for a week maybe two,

Then you decide to apply for a Visa in that country( not another triple entry ) just something like a single entry visa or even just a 30 day visa, so you can then return to Thailand for one more month

Anybody ever did this ? I am citizen of the UK, if this info help

Thanks in advance

Since a triple entry tourist visa can give you almost 270 days permission to stay you are asking someone to speculate what the rules will be in 9 months! In the past it would not have been a problem, currently there have been a few reports where Embassies have refused issuance of another visa due to the length of time spent in Thailand already. Nobody can tell you exactly what will be allowed in 9 months.

At the moment you can get another tourist visa at any nearby location or a 30 day visa exempt entry after a having a 3 entry visa.

Not an answer for you and ubonjoe is always on the money with these things. Having said that , when I got a tourist visa 30 days ago in HCM , yes my passport had many stamp exempt, the io lady said........" You really should have a non o based on retirement. ( I'm 60 and been here 2 years)

I wonder how you would go with entering Thailand with her at the Thai imm at an airport.

Not any reports on TV of problems. Good luck. We farang like definitive rules.... Then we can abide by em or do otherwise

When she made the comment about you should of been on a non-o you should of asked for a single entry non-o.

That would be better than a single entry tourist visa since you don't need the 30 day extension. You save 900 baht with a single non-o visa (Tourist visa 1000 baht + 1900 for extension verses 2000 baht for non-o)

"Otherwise" usually means searching for loopholes to get around the intent of the definitive rules, if not actually circumventing the letter of the law. And then in short order that begets even more restrictive rules.
