Popular Post Mackie Posted September 20, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 20, 2014 For heaven's sake, the old fella just made a general statement how women in general should dress up politely when they go out instead of walking around half-naked - for their own sake. And the whole PC brigade immediately jumped at the opportunity to launch an immediate attack on the man who actually didn't mean anything bad. Lost in translation. Let's crucify the guy for daring to speak out his mind on the matter of the dress code. AYJAYDEE Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Stop all the nonsense here please. Thailand sure doesn't have kiddy porn, serious. If you ever see that you should go to the police and report them, they sure will be arrested. Also the general was on tv for a long time tonight and apologised deeply because he was understood wrong. He only tried to warn all western girls to not wear the small bikini's in Thailand, that's all. This general has caught the chief of the police red-handed while he was selling a big quantity of drugs. It takes balls to do that and this man was so brave to do it. He is fighting corruption and make thailand a better place for all. Don't try and defend the indefensible. The man is out of his depth. I'm sorry I have to ask this, but are you talking about PM David Cameron or about PM Prayuth ? Both seem to have staunch defenders and both seem to have staunch distractors. When he was asked I'd say PM Cameron was more worried about being PM of a NLUK (aka No Longer United Kingdom). Somehow I doubt he spent more than 10 secs on this news item, agreed (privately) that it was "much ado about nothing" and "please don't bother me with such trivial things". Surely you having studied in Cambridge can understand when someone makes an off-the-cuff remark about 'fine females in bikinies being a danger to good morals'. Sorry mate but when i hear the name Cameron it makes me think of sharia, 700 gang-raped girls from 12-14yo, and nothing they are gonna do about it even not when the police was informed about it. Do i have to go on? You guys better wear bikini's all day because it might be over with that next year when the sharia kicks in. The Thai general is very busy reforming thailand and i'm very happy with that. We all have been waiting for that since ages! When will you guys fight for your rights? I guess it's to late allready. sharia next year!! lol
Aussieroaming Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Wearing a bikini has sweet F all to do with murder. The scum who did this need to be permanently removed from society. Wearing a bikini isn't a crime punishable by death
billd766 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 There is only one reason why foreign tourists in bikinis are tolerated on Thai beaches, and that is because of the $$$ earned from these tourists. Most Thai people are conservative in outlook and frown upon the wearing of such clothing. Remember that most Thais are Buddhist, with a large Muslim minority (majority in the south). Don't think for one minute that you would be welcome on the beaches of Thailand in your bikini if it were not for your money. I have seen Thai conservatism on walking street in Pattaya and along Jomtien beach and in many other locations around Bangkok. I have been approached early (ish) evening by men and women showing me graphic, sexual pictures and trying to coax me to go to a "ping pong" show. This is while weaving in and out of hoards of scantily dressed ladyboys along bar fronts strewn with ladies dancing provocatively to try and tempt me into go go bars. All of this in the street open for everyone to see, including the kids, very conservative. And yet bikinis worn by women on the beach are inappropriate,,, hmmm,,, priorities skewed maybe? All of which are illegal but were sort of condoned by the Thai police at a price.

GAZZPA Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 UK should riase concerns about there youngsters behavier, when they abroad ! In UK they have the police in front of every pub, we dont want to have this situation here in Thailand as reason of brits !! That makes concern to us !! What? The UK does not have police outside every pub,, do you know how many policeman you would need for that? Yes, there are people in the UK who drink too much and get into trouble, but the fact is that most people don't do this, it is the minority. The UK has not helped its reputation as we like to have fun, but there have been, over the years too many young holidaymakers overdoing it and causing trouble in the EU holiday hotspots. Overall these are still the minority,, you clearly have no clue what you are talking about.

Apart from being sexist, what he sad was trying to transfer blame form perpetrators to the victims based on their sex.......... 1

He must have realised that he would have to say something himself (why didn't he do this straight away? because it had to be explained??) ""It might bear pointing out that traditional Thai wear for women is topless. Much of what people think is morality is stuff that Christian missionaries brought over. It is not our culture." Pavida Pananond, a political economy professor at Thammasat University, said the premier's comments "reflect a deep-rooted sexist belief that rape is caused by women acting or dressing improperly, not by men behaving unacceptably". - See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/asia/prayuth-apologises-bikini-remark-after-global-outcry#sthash.bcxkerTo.DMPOql8r.dpuf 2

JenniferSG Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> Maybe insensitive but he has a point. There is no bikinis or even swimming suits worn by locals at local beaches and only a few westernized thais wear them at tourist places and then much bigger than western bikinis. Unfortunately. The only thais you will see wearing western bikinis are pros looking for a custumer or already with one. Told this years ago by the wife saying girls in bikinis are putting themselves in danger. Most loso thai men have little respect for women and just see women as meat. The shorts under skirts are worn for a reason. That's still backwards-thinking. Doesn't matter if it comes from your wife. Its sexism against men in that it implies they can't control themselves. Sorry but in this case the man or men could not control themselves..........could not keep their desires to themselves. No, they absolutely could control themselves. They chose their actions. This idea that men are rabid dogs who lose control is enabling nonsense. Would they still rape her if the police were standing there? No? Then they haven't lost control. They chose to do what they did. 1

So I guess your daughters better buy some burqas. 1

myluckythai Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Thailand is losing it's way very rapidly. No more land of smiles. No wonder tourists stay away more and more. they want to be a developed country without developed people...?
Plutojames88 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 They need to confront him with an ultra feminist group on his upcoming overseas trip. Let him deal with maybe the father of the daughter murdered . I bet something happens to this guy that will snap him out of his little world

Let him deal with maybe the father of the daughter murdered . I bet something happens to this guy that will snap him out of his little world Perhaps a truck full of bikinis slamming into his Car while overseas would be sufficient Karma . In any case you can bet wearing his civilian clothes, a long way from home minus tanks and guns as back up, could do him good.
