September 18, 201411 yr I think the responses to my post ( www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/759656-limit-on-voas/ ) misunderstood my questions. Allow me to re-phrase my first question: 1. An article in the magazine, "Pattaya Property Guide", August 2014, issue 45, page 26, stated that the LIMIT of "90 days' stay within six-month period" for visitors receiving a visa-on-arrival (VOA) was dropped. Is this correct? That is, with the 90-day limit within six months, a visitor would visit Thailand 3 times in a six-month period if each visit lasted 30 days. Or, 6 times in a six-month period if each visit lasted 15 days.
September 18, 201411 yr Yes, it was dropped in Nov. 2008. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/doc/temporarystay/policy778-2551_en.pdf Note that is about "visa exemption entry". Visa on Arrival is something else but normally people and media misues the term. Edited September 18, 201411 yr by paz
September 18, 201411 yr The 90 days total on visa exempt entries in 180 days went away November 28, 2008 when police order 778/2551 went into effect. That is also when 15 days at the border went started. Download: policy778-2551_en.pdf
September 18, 201411 yr You already have good answers, I have one question:- What is your nationality (are you talking about "Visa on Arrival" or "Visa Exempt" entries)? "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

September 23, 201411 yr Author What is your nationality (are you talking about "Visa on Arrival" or "Visa Exempt" entries)? Thanks. I was confused by the following, which was written by Siam Legal International (although its url for the information is misleading): Source: ww.thaiembassy. com/visa/thaivisa.php New Thai Visa Application Regulations As a foreigner, you are required by Thai Immigration Law to initially enter the Kingdom on a Visa if you wish to have amlong-term stay in Thailand. This can be a visa (tourist visa for 60 days or non-immigrant visa for 90 days) issued by a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand. You can also obtain a temporary stay with under the Visa Exemption Rule (VER). This allows citizens of 41 countries* permission to enter the Kingdom for a limited period of time (up to 30 days depending on the nationality) in accordance with Thai Immigration Law. This is commonly referred to as a 30-day stamp. Under the new provisions of the Visa Exemption Rule (VER), visitors can now come regularly to Thailand without limiting their stay within a total of 90 days in a six-month period. Just keep in mind that under the VER, you are allowed 30 days maximum on each visit. The restriction has already been abolished so tourists can now visit Thailand as often as they want, provided that they obtain 30 day Visa on Arrival at airports and 15 day Visa on Arrival if they are traveling via land borders. Thai Immigration Laws are revised on a regular basis for the convenience of tourists. However, immigration officials still recommend getting visas prior to arrival in Thailand, as they remind visitors that back-to-back short visas are not the proper way to extend the stay in the country on a long-basis. www.thaiembassy. com/thailand/changes-visa-exempt.php 49 countries whose passport holders get visa exempt. - - - www.thaiembassy. com/thailand/changes-visa-exempt.php 19 countries whose passport holders get visa on arrival - - - I have a USA passport. So, I get visa exempt for 30 days. I guess the last sentence in the block above means that I cannot come for two 30-day visits with only a day or two between visits?
September 23, 201411 yr You don't need to back to back entries because you can now get a 30 day extension for a visa exempt entry. You also can get 30 day entries at a border crossing since your are from the states (G7 country rule). If you plan on staying longer than 60 days it would be best to get a tourist visa.
