People that have been charge with child related offences should ALWAYS be outted!!!

Stop making excuses for him....

Nobody's making excuses for him, but his criminal past has no bearing on the case here has it?

I have the same tolerance for kiddie fiddlers like most fathers with kids has, but I have the same zero tolerance for <deleted> as well!!

Yes it does. What if he was a convicted killer with a major criminal background? Would that be taken into account?

People like this scumbag have warped minds, so each and every step of the day night for eternity, this swines background should be taken into account when it comes to sex offences.

I bet i'm not the only expat who said, "Oh <deleted>" when we found out he's a pedo (doin't bother trying to tell me he's not a pedo, he obviously finds children sexually attractive so the hat fits) as yet again it shines a light on Thailand and it's attraction to scumbag pedos like this person

I'm a firm believer in Judge ye not and ye shall not be judged, I nor anyone else here knows the case of McAnna, so I'll reserve judgement on that one.

If he was a convicted killer with a major criminal background? Um yeah I'd dismiss it too, unless there was anything linking him to the current crime in question..

as I said, I have zero tolerance for kiddie fiddlers, or any other sexual predator mate, but unless there was evidence linking him to the current crime, then no matter what he's done in the past, in the current case, he would be innocent. Not just in my eyes, but in the eyes of the law, you may not like that but that's the law, all your doing is showing prejudice.

if they had secured the island properly from the outset and ...

Easier to say than to do! How many policemen are on this small island? It's very difficult to secured such a small island with many creeks and a lot of boats. You would need at least one hundred men to do so!

To be honest, I think you are being a bit unfair on Fat Haggis here.

No way has he condoned paedophilia and I doubt he ever would being a father and all that.

This case and thread is not about his sexual perversions of which actually make me want to throw up with the next man. But Fat Haggis is in fact quite correct that people like yourself are using this latest negative development to deflect from the case in point.

The victims wer not children, the guy is not a suspect and he was chased down by two adults and not a case of HIM chasing pre-pubescent kids into a convenience store.

Of course we can all feel free to comment on his past degenerate behaviour, put it has absolutely nowt to do with the credibility of his story. There are completely different factors that should be raised to ascertain that. Not whether he was a fiddler.

Please take your anger out on this guy's facebook page like everyone else seems to be doing. But your hijacking of this thread for all the wrong reasons helps nobody.

Fat Haggis is totally correct in what he is saying to you.

Thank you, and spot on, I will pass judgement on McAnna's crime in another thread, and only after I'm aware of ALL the facts, I'm as guilty as the next man at jumping to conclusions, but as I said, I will reserve my judgement for the appropriate time, this one is about his actions and the part he played in possibly getting the cops spurred into action, and arresting someone.

Paedophillia is nothing to be gloating about, and yes, they should all be outed at a time and a place that's appropriate, for me, this thread, or anything to do with the murders of David and Hannah are far from appropriate.

Just saw on Australian media that tourists are leaving Thailand in droves. Tourists are actually scarred

That would not be good, Thailand's image at present is pretty poor. There are however plenty of lovely places in Thailand that are a world away from lawless crap holes like KT.

I was chatting with a friend in the old home town the other night. There was a big fight between some tuk tuk drivers and a couple of tourists last weekend.

Over what, god knows, but the tourists got a damn good shoeing apparenlty. So, there is barely anywhere that is immune from this stuff. I helped a Brit who was given a massive kicking outside his house near Ubon about 4 years ago, and witnessed a foreigner get a huge kicking during the Chiangmai 6s a few years back. These problems are everywhere.

Do you have a source for this?

I really doubt it is true. I am sure most tourists don't even read the news when they are on holiday.

Yup. English teacher near my place was near beaten to death, hip and skull smashed, spent three months in hospital in Bangkok. Beaten by taxi drivers in BKK.

That's truly terrifying, what are they being scarred by? Too much sun, dreadful tattoos or having too good a time in Thailand so going home becomes difficult?

So many people have been scarred by Thailand for life- going back home to their home countries and dull suburban cities with their dreadfully intrusive laws, grey skies and unsmiling folk on the streets proves too much to bear for many, and they're compelled to return to the Land of Smiles.

You can check out but you can never leave Thailand.

Haha I know some people who own a little hotel in Bangkok (Thai /Indian) and they are "scared" of Australians. They say they are the worst customers and always make trouble.

I was sorry to hear that as I have quite a few Australian friends and they are ok.

Maybe General Prayuth and the appropriate authorities should introduce

a law giving higher punishments to crimes against tourists/farangs, similar

to crimes committed at night but if no bail possible.

That might make some people think twice how to behave and sure would

have a positive impact on tourism and show the world, Tourists ARE safe.

^^Joe. Not special treatment, just get a police force that actually enforces the law, regardless.

I do think the DSI should deal with cases like this horror on Koh Tao though. The damage has been done mostly by the clear corruption for all to see.
