Good comment !!! cheesy.gif

The only reason why I posted that, was of course because I need to get my posting count up and not because of showing my addiction whistling.gif

What are the signs you are addicted?

When your replies in a thread longer than one page make up 20% or more of said replies...

Who do you fancy in the NRL Grand Final? It's been a long time between drinks for the Bunnies and the Doggies are, errr, underdogs... or should that be uberdogs? It's a Grand Final eh, too big to call really. And I'm going to miss it as I'm working... not to worry.

Mate, your words are too kind ... wink.png

Re the game ... go the Bunnies.

For me ... for many ... our 'second' team.

Maybe because they are Rugby League Heart Land.

So, in true fashion ... meeting up in Bangkok with 3 other members from the Forum to watch the game.

Yeah, Bunnies here too Dave, with both my heart and my head, and it's not often you can say that eh. Not that I don't like the Doggies, I just don't think they've got the points in them. And Ennis just shits me to tears, a more hated player in the modern game is hard to think of. 'Ennis the Menace' is up there with Benny Elias in sheer hate-ability I reckon eh. I wish he'd drop the niggle from his game, I really do. But it looks like his foot injury is going to rule him out anyways, so maybe justice of a type is being done here.

Enjoy the game mate Dave, have a coldie or seven for me. I'm on a dry project so I can't even have a sherbet if the Bunnies get up. Not to worry really, but It's moments like these when I remind myself it's not just about work eh.

Go Souffs! IT'S BUNNY SEASON!

As Jingting mentions, the ignore button is there, to help keep your addiction buzz sane.

The ignore button is, IMO, a tool where people walk away from something/somebody/reality. My guess is that it is used to easily. Its the same when people block others on social media because they dont like the opinion of others.

In case of stalking and harassment its a useful tool.

And you are a better man for it, lee.

Hopefully, like myself, you will learn to apply these Rules to other aspects of your life and help to make the world a happy place.

Addiction is a strong word. If you don't feel the need to have to be on it every day all the time then no, one is probably using it like a newspaper type media source or a way to catch up with some internet friends. If you are on it all the time, answering posts across thread after thread and a day without posting on it is stressful or you cant wait to get back to your computer to log in then you are probably psychologically addicted. Some people are not even aware they are.

Its like everything in life, Its healthy in moderation. I suspect that some of the posters who regularly post bitter angry comments or responses or are disruptive have ran their course and probably should find a new hobby. Of course to bad they do not have means to detect intoxicated posters. LOL!

Krisp:

I've only been a member for two months now, but I think you're right, TVF can be addictive.

One thing I've noticed is that TVF members seem to be a pretty diverse group of people, i.e., young/old; newbie/old timer; many different countries; city/rural; rich/poor; varying educational backgrounds; working/retired; fluent/non-fluent, etc., etc., that this creates a certain suspense about who is going to say what next. I think this sense of suspense explains a lot about why these forums can become addictive. There also seems to be a more dynamic culture on this expat website than a lot of expat forums I've visited for other countries.

I've also noticed that my interest in Facebook has really dropped off since being on TVF. Most of my "friends" on Facebook are high school buddies who rarely post anything or people who post pictures of what they have for breakfast or life event stuff. It's a nice tool to keep up with friends and family, but I no longer consider Facebook as addictive as I did when I first joined.

So Krisp, now that I've answered your topic in a thoughtful way, any chance I can get you to change your avatar? That purple half-human half T-rex eyeball really scares me everytime I look at it. smile.png

Errr....speaking of avatars.....!
