hi molly,

I've seen these hairstraighteners all over samui, even stalls with only these items, in any quality and price. so I'm very sure you'll find one in BKK!

happy hair-doing! :o

Hi Mollybird

Boo's too lazy to write, so as her temporary secretary she's has instructed me to inform you that you can purchase ceramic straighteners at any larger Boots chemists, such as at Siam Discovery Centre.

Have a nice day :o

Cheers for that essential info folks :o Im heading to Samui also so will pick some up then - straight hair here I come!

Mollybird, hate to break your bubble here but after awhile living on the islands you realize all this beauty regime stuff is pointless! I get up in the morning, shower, shampoo and put it back in a ponytail! Too darn hot to wear your hair down, especially this time of year as it is really starting to heat up! Also, forget the makeup, it just melts off you face. For really special occasions I wear mascara but that is it. And that usually melts off by the end of the evening anyway. At home I wear t-shirts and shorts and flip-flops. To go to town I put on clean shorts, a clean t-shirt and a pair of decent looking sandals. Shocked the heck out of my dad when I went home and it only took me 15 minutes to shower and get ready to go. OK, when home and it is cold out I do take the time to blow dry my hair, wouldn't want it freezing in place! Biggest thing to remember here is to take care of your skin, sunscreen at all times, wear a hat, don't get burned. Have fun and relax, that is the best part of life on the islands!

Yep SBK I know what your saying is dead right, last time i was out there I was exactly the same (think birds nest on the head), but what i did always miss was being able to make an effort every once in a while (party/meal out/etc etc) so I was just doing some forward thinking, especially as im going to be there longer term this time.

But I agree fully about the lack of make up and hair being a mess, it actually really nice to not have to worry about all the things that are part of everyday life in the UK.

ha ha, you all think im some made up bimbo on my way to los with my stillettos & clinique range at the ready!! not true really :o

NO NO NO, just some poor misguided girl fooled into thinking that hair mattered. or makeup! My husband (and lots of guys I know, including farang guys for that matter) has told me that he does not like makeup on women, he says, "She could look like anything under all that makeup".

I do have nice clothes days, went to another wedding today and wore (gasp!) a skirt. Blew a few people away. Even ironed it for a change :o

Well very well done to you, a skirt, very racy! But can i just ask, at what point did I mention anything to do with what blokes think about how I look? Mis-guided girl - I really dont think so, like to look and feel good occasionally - thats me :o

No offense meant, just too many women buy into the notion of how thin they should be, how perfect whatever perpetuated by the media. I find I do best when I am happiest with my natural self, and the better I feel about myself the better I look. Thankfully, my hubby loves me frizzy hair and all. :o

No offence taken, and I fully agree what your saying. Beauty comes from within and all that. Have a nice day :o
