Thai Friend, Us Passport Wants To Move Back To Los

Featured Replies

my friend has lived in the US most of his life and has a US passport. he has a Thai ID card and an old expired Thai passport. he wants to move back here. how?

if he enters thailand on a US passport, he'll be treated like a farang, visa runs, etc.

he thinks he can renew his thai passport in bkk but then i think he would have to go back to the us on his us passport and re enter thailand on his thai passport. is there a problem with this?

do you think he could renew his thai passport in the us now? does thailand allow dual citizenship?

thanks for any ideas.

steve

yes, he is allowed to have dual nationality. He is actually a dual national as we speak.

He should apply for his passport from the nearest consulate in the US or the Thai emabssy in DC. He should then re-enter the country on the new Thai PP the first time, to save him time stuffing about with doing passport swapsies.
