Highly predictable BS,

My girlfriend was looking at the Thai reports on one of the Thai language news forums, guess what?, hundreds of replies all from Thai people that are all saying the same - complete and utter BS!!, the vast majority of them seem to think the headman and his family are at the root of this crime as well!

I feel sick!

Good to hear the Thai people have enough sense to smell utter and complete BS when confronted with it. My heart goes out to these obviously innocent Burmese guys that were framed. And to their families. Shame on the Thai police for not having the courage to arrest the true perp. And shame on the army for not doing the right thing here. With this incident alone, they conveyed to millions, that there is a lot of doubt they are willing to rock the boat, and upset the apple cart.

One has to wonder if this is the reason that the FBI was ultimately not asked to do the DNA testing...... they would have come up with the true results......... in the meantime it could be that conversations were in the works to switch the locally done DNA samples if need be.

This too , could be yours if the price is right...... com'on down

One has to wonder about the mental state of the accused and the pressure brought to bear on him by the police who are clearly desperate to make this all go away.

It is hard to really believe this guy has willingly confessed. I hope it is not a forced confession.

Why is it hard to believe?.........If you had comitted a crime, were in custody waiting for DNA results, then unless you believe in miracles you'd be pretty much goosed.

What odds you going to give me that the bloke who confessed now, suddenly, commits suicide in prison? That would not surprise me at all, as it would "resolve" the situation. The whole thing is so transparent it's beyond belief.

DNT ??? Lol <deleted> they can't even get the basics right

Why are so many focusing on "DNT", haven't any of you, just for a second, considered it a typo..... geez.

Why don't they wait for the DNA results first, but rush to make a statement again.

So many times they have been proved wrong in the past.

Why should I believe them now?

No need, the deal has been made, to hell with DNA results, not needed they have confessed.

The deal is done. The Myanmar worker's families will be given a large sum of money. Well, large by Myanmar standards.

The real culprit successfully; found an alibi, found a witness, and then found a cheap scapegoat.

That's fine, till the next time it happens. Which it will if they haven't got the real perps.

Wonder if there is any link to the two headless corpses found in a bay on an island off Pattaya a month or so ago? Anyone know if that has been solved, or has it been 'solved'?

A well travelled friend told me that in the Far East the police "solve" crimes by finding a fall-guy or victim and beating him up until he confesses. Can this be true?

A paraphrased quote from an island Thai resident passed just to me by a Thai friend:

'If they not do, mai pen rai, they go monkey house, everyone forget, good for here.'

Mmmmm....

adjusted the CCTV's color provided by the police. It appears that there was somebody who was walking in front of him when he was walking back. Why did police edited out the missing 2 minutes?

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=707139219363806&set=vb.596740650403664&type=2&theater

Two people. If you watch it looks like a dude to the left and a girl with long hair on the right.

It took me a while to see it too.... At the suggestion of a poster I took a few takes to realise it does appear to be two people.

I have been reading Thai forums. 99% are waiting for honest results.

The Thai's are looking and demanding that the 2 minute disappearance of the running boy CCTV video be returned to the original video.

They don't believe the Burmese trio are responsible. They're thinking, is the family.

They are saying the guy and the girl in the missing CCTV footage seems to be carrying a hoe over his left shoulder. Hmm!

It was a white man playing the guitar on the beach, this is what the police told us at the start.

This is just going to prolong the pain for the families, 3rd world mindset in this nation where the natives are known to have a low IQ.

And what are you , a rocket scientist?

Gangthai is completely right.....you all moan about injustice and how bad Thailand is and you won't accept when a suspect confesses to a crime...what more do the Thai Police have to do?.....pathetic farang that want to live in Thailand and criticize Thailand forever.

Can you not accept the positives of Thailand?

Beautiful country, wonderful religion, wonderful King, best food, most illustrious history, friendly people, beautiful culture, amazing Thailand......why do you only bitch about Thailand?

Can you not see the corruption and badness in any other country?

I am truly blessed to live in the best country in the world and to respect Thai law and to abide by Thai law.....I don't understand the moaning and griping.....if you don't like Thai law....go back to your country...if you love Thailand stay and be respectful of the wonderful culture and kindness of the most amazing people in the world....you can be pathetic and criticize but Thailand is Number One and always will be

I cannot believe how many armchair detectives have worked so hard to disregard any "evidence" sic that the police may or may not gathered, I swear some people on TV would disbelieve their own name, OK the BiB are not known for their brilliance in deduction but the torrent of abuse from some of these posters is just beyond the pale, insulting the whole Thai Nation's IQ is just not acceptable IMHO, perhaps some people have an axe to grind but they really need to remember they are guests, albeit paying guests in the country which they have chosen to live in as expats so they should remember that they should show some respect for the nation, Not all police are corrupt & or stupid. I have no doubt that I will be vilified for these comments by those whose intelligence is as suspect as the ones they are insulting, there is an old adage that you don't insult the host. If you think that the country is so stupid and the police are universally corrupt why do you stay, is it to exploit those very people! Go back to being Hercule Poirot and solving crimes in your dreams and stop writing slanderous rubbish on TV.for example "this was a crime of anger and fury" was the commenter there to know this, Murder by its very nature is usually a crime of anger and fury but people who have made statements like this have absolutely no evidence to base this statement on, only from police statements and "news"paper reports so they seem to be second guessing the police, unless of course they were witnesses to the event, then they should give the police a statement to assist them in their inquiries, Speculation all of it, mostly second or third hand

You are perfectly entitled to express this point of view. Equally, I get irritated by always being called a 'guest', which appears to imply I should have no opinion, based on years of residency and experience.

It's drip feed corruption that, if you like, poisons the mind to some extent.

In all my years I have never heard a foreigner in the UK refer to himself/herself as a 'guest'. They, the foreigners, are always demonstrating about something or other, and good luck to them. They are entitled to an opinion.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make the fact go away I know you may not like to be called a guest but what do you consider yourself to be, you if you are on a visa are not a citizen, you are allowed to stay in Thailand as a Tourist, immigrant worker, Married to a Thai or retired, there are many other sub divisions of visa I know, but you are allowed to stay in Thailand by the grace of the Thai government, they can withdraw the visa at any time and deport you for many reasons like it on not semantics apart you are for most relevant purposes a guest in Thailand by the let of the Thai Government, it is not what you call yourself as a foreigner that matters, you are an alien in Thailand. Why are you on about what foreigners do in UK That has nothing to do with the insults on TV about the Thai Nation from people who according to their views are better educated than the "ignorant Thai people" I have no problem with people expressing a point of view, what I have a problem with is people who take advantage to live the lifestyle they want in Thailand which they can't do in their home country & then spend their sorry lives insulting any one who would dare disagree with the Jaundiced point of view the have developed possibly from over imbibing the local brew, how dare I disagree! I should be deported, except I have gone back home because of these Jaundiced views. I am married and have been for several years to a Thai and still don't understand Thainess but I don't insult her because of it, I have learned to embrace the differences not forment hatred because of them. As I said opinions are one thing Deliberate insults are something entirely different. please don't tell me as I no longer live in Thailand that I'm not entitled to a point of view as I still have family living in Bangkok.

Ok,one more time.

Foreigners in this country are not guests.

They are customers, for now and forever.

Always will be a second class inhabitant and if marry to a thai she will be degraded

to that class too.

I sincerely hope that the British and Burmese governments demand independant Dna testing, hopefully in Britain the samples were taken from these unfortunate people so as to avoid any chance of a FIT UP ! I'll be interested to see the reaction of the RTP and the government if this was requested............ Why don't i trust anything in Thailand ?

Tim - Human beings are capable of both finding beauty and wonderful things/people/places/culture/art in a country and finding fault in a murder investigation. Human beings can find fault with other countries, including corruption, and ALSO see it in Thailand. It isn't an either-or prospect. And using the term "pathetic farang" doesn't make you seem friendly, or open minded, at all.

Just to add my log to fire, has anybody wondered why in all the years that you've been here, you've never met a Farang (Foreigner) with Thai nationality or a Thai passport ? Also why is it that i know loads of Thais with a British passport ? I have a very good friend here who's been in Thailand for over forty years, his wife is the front for his large trucking business, but in all this time he has worked and employed the local people, he is still referred to as "The Falang" Just a thought............
