Freedome by F-Secure not only offers you VPN with a multitude global locations, but it also strips malware and trackers from your traffic. Sort of a cloud-base defense fortress, and only €26.99/£20.99/$29.99 per year.

Only for Android and iOS currently, but PC & Mac versions should be rolling out before year end.

VPN's are nice but are they giving you the service you expect? They are prone to what is called "leaking". You might be surprised what you learn.

If it shows your Thai server, simply log completely off and re-log into the VPN and then open your browser. Re test to check.

Private Internet Access.com is great because they push the fact there are no logs kept. And if you really want to be anonymous there was a way to pay with Bitcoin I believe. All for about $3

I use UnblockVPN. USD49 for a year dynamic IP (non shared). They have endpoint servers in all countries I would be interrested in (UK, US, NL, SE, CZ, SK). Have been using them for over 3 years now, no issues.

They support all the major protocols (PPTP, L2TP, OVPN, SSTP) and I have configured them on Linux, Windows and my Adroid devices, I believe iThings and Macs are supported too.

Ironsocket. They have servers all over the world now. When I was home in the UK this past summer I clean installed Windows 8 (SE Asia edition) on my laptop and could activate by logging in to their Thai server first.

Interesting that the dnsleaktest site won't load when I'm connected to StrongVPN.

Theres a free install of CyberGhost pro ,out there, installed it,quiet

easily,works well,6 months free license..

I used to use UnblockUs for a couple of years, worked well, but then

they withdrew the annual fee, and went to monthly payments, which

was too much of a hassle.

Beware of PIA, especially if you are using Windows 8. Very unreliable. I used it for almost a year. It frequently dropped connection and I never knew it until checking with Speedtest.net or ipleak.net. Tried workiing with them for a long time to figure out a correction. Never achieved any resolution. Finally quit them after getting a DRM notice from my local ISP. No harm here but could have been disastrous if this happened while banking and I was left exposed unknowingly. If you ae highly concerned about your internet privacy as well as secuity there are few good choices. They exist but you'll have to do your homework. Be careful out there!

what make/model router are you using ?

I have configured my dd-wrt router as the openvpn client so that our whole network is on the vpn. Works great, except for the daily fail of name resolution. However, I check frequently to see where my ip is located and on one occasion it persistently showed Jiangsu, China even though I had configured Los Angeles. Don't know if Chinese hackers hijacked me or witopia or what. Had to configure it to another witopia location to shake the Chinese.

imho, having used strongvpn on a router for a year, now PIA with an openvpn client (not the PIA client) is a much better deal ; strongvpn gave me such run-around with tech support , wasted hours with their managers, till I gave up .....

and the whole 1 device only is a joke, but that is why i used the router, which probably lacked adquate cpu power and so my speed suffered all that time.....

Chubby, just to clarify for me. You used PIA on your router, not using a client and the whole network was secured?

I tried to put PIA on my ddwrt router, but after, asking questions in their forum, I was told that unless you have a very high end router, the encrypt/decrypt is going to be slower than a client, running in win7, I don't use their GUI, I use openvpn client, fairly straightforward, the GUI, esp on a solid state drive, may be bad for it, etc,

with PIA, there is no need to put it on the router, as you can have 5 separate devices on the same account, on strongvpn, they'd way overcharge you for the same thing.

I run the openvpn client(using PIA's credentials), on my laptop and desktop , you could run the PIA GUI on your smartphone if you want to login everytime...

Works OK for me using StrongVPN...and the good news, No Leaks!

no leaking here either, if your just going to grab torrents, than throughput won't matter as much, though it always matter, check you speeds, unless you have a high end router, the router method, will be slower, but easier to setup last i checked using strongvpn, they have an actual support page, and theorhetically tech support, though like i said, i wasted hours w/them giving me BS answers, till i gave up

They have a twelve month free Promo on at the moment. Haven't tested it, as I have no use for it. I think that it has to be activated by the the end of this month.
