HughJass
I own a Honda CB500F which is the naked version of this bike I like the style of the bike but would like to raise the handlebar height and fit the bars from the 500X model does anyone know whether the switchgear wires, brakepipe, clutch cable are the same on both models or will raising the handlebar height involve having to purchase parts in addition to new handlebars? as an aside is it normal to have a rattling clutch on this bike?...the rattle stops when the lever is engaged...6500km
ll2
it is doable but all i know you have to extend the cables and do some other mods too. for the shaking lever, i changed mine on cbr500r with aftermarket levers so cannot say something. maybe clutch is loose a bit? eisfeld
My CBR500R has no rattling clutch. Was that from the beginning and did you ask the dealer about it?
HughJass
the bike was bought s/h and is now 18 months old...is it still under guarantee?
dave_boo
As a note, my "X" model also has a clutch that makes some noise when in neutral. Wouldn't call it rattling but more whuurling noise. As nobody I've rode with has said anything about it, I am not worried.
brfsa2
when not engaged the clutch it is normal to make an extra noise when engine is running and in neutral. My cb500f does it too and also my dad SV650.
