I think you meant "ploughed the field". As I read it, the geezer only discovered the letter and photo in a Facebook post, perhaps by a descendent of the guy who kept the $15, worth $160 today. A grunt earned $78-120 a month. I don't foresee a touching, tearful reunion from the hot schoolgirl to an 85-year old crone with no teeth. (Well, could be okay with no teeth.) Who's been pining away and saving herself for him all these years. There are other questions, too. Like was he aware she had his bun in the oven? If so, then he's a heartless MF.
