The UK government have actually put it in writing and it is up on the FCO website as an official press release as per the link someone else posted above which is a very strong diplomatic move in its own right. For the esteemed General to now stand up and still deny it is basically the diplomatic equivalent of sticking two fingers up.

Popular Post ExPratt
I have not time or liking for Military takeovers and Juntas but I still can't help feeling sorry for the PM, He could possibly have turned out to be the greatest leader in Thailand's history , who knows, but he doesn't have a chance as he's bogged down by the absolute incompetence and stupidity of the Government agencies he has inherited. It was only the infighting, law suits , protests and political violence that kept this shambles and their ineptitude off of the front pages Edited October 14, 2014 by ExPratt
HeijoshinCool
Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha asserted that the British government has no doubt regarding Thailand's investigation of the murder of two British tourists …. I'm sure they don't Mr Prime Minister, that's why yesterday they summoned your man in London, stressing "there was a real concern in the UK about how the investigation has been handled by the Thai authorities, and are meeting again today to discuss the RTP's handiwork. They have no doubts, so they are trying to give you a chance to save Face. I'd take it.
sprq
When the news came out that a senior Thai diplomat had been summoned to the Foreign Office in London to hear British concerns about the case, several people said "now wait for the general to answer that the Brits think everything is OK". And sure enough, right on cue.... It's looking worse and worse. No matter what anybody seems to say, the face savers plough ever onward with their fitting up of the two Burmese, Thai obstinacy at its worst.
