Can I get 30 day visa on arrival if my return flight does not leave for 2 months?

Recommended Posts

I plan on entering Don Muang BKK airport in 3 days. I am American and I am flying on Air Asia from Osaka, Japan to BKK Don Muang. My return flight back to Japan is in two months. I last entered Thailand 5 months ago. I do not have a visa but will get a 30 day tourist visa upon arrival and then extend that for another 30 days at the immigration office for a total of two months. Will I encounter any problems? Thanks in advance.

You will entry visa exempt, not visa on arrival.

See below about the precaution you need to take in order to board your flight:

So this could be a problem since my return flight is not for two months. It is with Air Asia, does anyone know how strigent they are in checking for this?

depends on the airline or even the member of staff checking you in. the last time i flew with etihad they queried my 6.5 month stay on a 6 month visa. once i'd educated them about visa extensions they let me board.

you could buy a cheap outward ticket then bin it.
