Monk on underage porn- What to do ?

My apologies

Apparently it is NOT illegal yet to watch under 18 porn in this country

Police must consider what the intentions behind the behaviour are.

For example, the word "possession" should not refer to ordinary porn but should clearly mean pornography of children aged under 18, and photos kept not for personal sexual pleasure but to victimise children.

"It is just such an act that will be considered as wrongdoing," said Pol Gen Chatchawan, also director of the centre for children and women protection and anti-human trafficking under the Royal Thai Police.

That leaves us with just the moral / buddhism stand

I would think that even if this is the case, that if it were hard-core porn it would be illegal - otherwise why do they bother blocking the websites?

To prevent the offensive websites to make a living ?

and your friend has no business deciding what is moral or unbuddhist.

Legally you are probably right but I think that is disgusting.

Just replace all the child porn with old grandma porn and say - it must have been the virus ohmy.png

because its distribution with an intention to show to the public.

"Pornography laws in Thailand prohibit all types of pornography. Production, distribution and possession with an intention to show to the public are criminalized. Possession for personal use is legal. The law enforcement is relatively light. "

Yes but according to one of the posters here, the police is not interested in people possessing porn.

So only the Buddhist law abides ...

Seriously, why bother debating the ethics of monks when half the practice has been rewritten to suit the needs of the country.

I watch porn, you watch porn, your priest love porn and most likely every other boy with a penis has watched porn.

Girls like porn too..

Better to watch porn than be a peeping tom or a rapist. Shall i report you to all the church for committing sin?

Get over it. whistling.gif

(If its underage porn, then you should of reported it. Now you might be morally or even legally obligated to report it ? Best consult ask a lawyer Section)

They make donations to the temple to support this guy's dirty habits

I think it's his business too.

I’m not a Digital Pikey thank you very much.

I earn my living producing adult educational films and playing poker.

I am an online technician.

I've enjoyed an 'adult educational film' or two over the years.

May I ask ... what is your specialist field?.

Twink. Young man on young man.

Honestly, this is not kiddie stuff but some of my clients like their men to look young (in the same way that hetros like young girls).

Humm ... I would hazard a guess then that your films then will never educate me ... w00t.gif

how can you know that viruses are from underage porno pages and not from normal age porno pages?

If there are tons of pictures from under age porno pages than it is a serious thing. But if there are only viruses, they could be also from other dubious webpages.

To the OP ... what an interesting thread you have started.

You have gone form informing the Viewership that a Monk is watching illegal, underage' porn ... but within the hour you have discovered that it is indeed not 'underage', nor illegal, have quoted the relevant Thai Law and have now made this thread into the moral rights and wrongs of a Monk allegedly watching something which you deem inappropriate.

OP ... might it have been prudent to have done this research before posting the OP?

Just saying like ... coffee1.gif

my wife is conservative Thai Buddhist. But never goes into temples and has a pretty bad opinion about most monks (with some exceptions).

She almost slapped one for asking my mother (from Europe) for money at a tourist place biggrin.png

dirty habits? lol. are you saying everyone who watches porn has a dirty habit? that will constitute a very large segment of society pal. and you have a very shallow understanding of the purpose and status of monks if thats the way you see things.

Just tell your friend all religions and Buddhism is based on fantasy and that as such it really doesnt matter what he looks at.

what is fantasy about the main tenets of buddhism?

The Three Signs of Existence or Universal Properties

1. Anicca — Impermanent;

2. Dukkha — Unsatisfactory, stress inducing;

3. Anatta — Insubstantial or Not-self.

All compounded and conditioned things, all phenomena are impermanent. Because of this they give rise to Stress and Affliction and because of this they are Not-self What we call "self " is a process not a 'thing".

I work on computers full time (live and breathe the computer lifestyle) so I see a lot of dodgy stuff on clients computers than most people.

Whether to report him or not, that would be dependant on the confidentiality agreements that you would have with your clients.

I run quite a few gay porn websites (from outside of Thailand) and would be very upset if people started telling everyone about my business but kiddie stuff is a different matter, so difficult call.

Is your friend a Thai or Farang?

You'd be the chap to ask then; How can the guy tell the virus was obtained from a kiddie porn site just on the merits of the virus (as stated in the OP)?

Yes, he can see browsing history......but that would imply snooping and he wouldn't want to admit that, I suppose.

Kitsune....my opinion is that your allegation is extremely damaging to this monk if not true.

It sounds to me that you are conflicted that a monk could watch porn. Welcome to the real world where religious people suffer the same temptations as normal people. That monk is weak and he will progress with Buddha as far as his weakness allows but that isn't your concern.

If you truly believe the monk is watching child porn then you should act, not expect someone else to act for you. But when you act be prepared to substantiate your allegation with fact not rumour or innuendo.

Can everyone shut up about so-called "accusation"?

There is no name no place, no ACCUSATION.

I don't even have the identity of this person, only my friend has.

I don't believe anything.

My friend tells me about his job and I know it's very easy to see what causes the viruses
