Need advise on embassy and wp3 receipt

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

So here's the summary.

My company wants to hire me as F&B manager for their hotel which is opening soon.

But we ran into a few problem at the Laos , the WP3 receipt was missing, and my salary was lower than the 50k required.

The salary is gonna be changed, but they're having trouble with the wp3 form. Their hotel is not yet listed as an hotel, but as an appartment for now, dont know why though. Theyre redoing some paper and it might take until december to complete.

So i heard in Singapore and maybe a few others countries, some people said the thai embassy there dont ask for the wp3 receipt.

Is it true? If yes it would help a lot. Im on my 3rd tourist visa(was looking for job before and holidays) and my visa ends on november, so if i could speed the process and get my non B fast it would help.

Anyone can comfirm that Singapore or somewhere else dont ask for the wp3 form? I have all the others papers(a tons) except this one for now.

Thanks a lot.

It is not just the receipt for the work permit application you need. A approval letter of the work permit application is what is needed now. There is no minimum salary requirement to get the visa in Laos.

Singapore is the only embassy in the area that will issue a non-b visa without the approval letter. Their requirements can be found hee: http://www.thaiembassy.sg/visa-matters-/-consular/visa-requirements/non-immigrant-visa-b

Sorry, but im kinda new to all this, how do i get that approval letter of the work permit application?

I thought you need the non b first then get the work permit... This is really confusing.

Also do you know what is the 6. Recommendation letter from a company in Singapore (Original in the company’s letter head)

Im gonna work in thailand not singapore.

Edit : ok guess i misread you, the approval letter isnt needed in singapore. gotcha.

So i can come to singapore with all my documents without this particular approval letter and wp3 receipt.

Sounds too good to be true actually after what ive been through in laos.

You can apply for a work permit with a tourist visa entry. You only need to have the non-b visa for it to be issued. Also the WP3 would not be the form used for your application it would be a WP1. The WP3 is for an application if you are not here in Thailand.

That document from a Singapore company would only be needed if you were applying for B visa to travel to Thailand for business purposes.

Alright thanks a lot, ill go to singapore soon then with all my documents minus this form/receipt thing.

Glad theres one embassy that doesnt require this wp1 at least.

You'll need a WP no matter which route you take, so I would think applying for it now would make more sense.

Unless you or the company won't meet the requirements.
