i made my one smiling 7 month ago and the result is epected about the 16th of december and will make her even smile every day...

Nice one then!

Boy or girl?

My daughter is the 24th december, and wife is 27 december! ...it's hectic.

Not sure why, Thais don't generally celebrate birthdays.

Really, you've never seen balloons and a cake for the kids.

I've seen it but a lot more don't do anything, nothing between adults, when both Thai.

And none of them do the greedy western kid's birthday extravaganza.

Low key and inexpensive.

Children's day is generally more of an event.

On a more personal note,

My 3 year old got a cake and a 200bht toy last month.

My gf will get same as she gets me, nothing.

Wondering what the OP will get on his birthday?

Mmmmmm....tell us something useful.....

Like, how do you get a Thai girl to stop smiling!

attachicon.gif10.jpg

after all, this isThe Land of Smiles, where they smile if they are happy or not!

Of course if someone says 'smile' while taking their picture.

Every country does that.

Thanks for searching for a lovely pic though!

So what did you get 4 months ago?

(I'm thinking nothing, else you would have said)

No idea exactly what your point is or where you're going with this, but we get each other gifts every birthday and christmas. Last time she paid for the airfares to go overseas. Pitty her fil was at the other end, but was still good.

Not sure I would consider a trip to my in-laws to be a present.

More like a punishment IMHO.

I use Agoda, great site.

My wife is a hotel cleaner in Australia.

Her salary is just under 52k a year. Then she's a really great saver.

Trust me, she can afford airfares.

I would have been just as happy to stay home but we had a great Thai Visa party in Bangkok and was looking forward to that.

No not me. Never.

We live and work in Australia.

I have said I use Agoda a few times. Maybe that was the confusion.

In Thailand itself, it's the other way around. FIRST the lady makes the guy smile (a lot) and then on rare occasions the Thai-Male feels the urgency to give "present".

The only ones not willing to accept this social concept are some Aliens (Thais call them Farangs). This is the sole reason Farangs are so immensely popular among a certain segment of the Thai Female Population.

Cheers.

I have to agree with AOA on this.

Thailand being the diverse population that it is ... many will have different traditions, but if the person is Thai, usually the Birthday is not celebrated in the way we do in the West.
