UK cops 'to only observe'

JD is entitled to his opinion. Whilst i and many probably don't agree with him on this subject, he is certainly not a troll and is a knowlegable long term poster, as opposed to some of the other shills thzt have appeared defending The BIB
Thanks for the support (I think) smile.png

Personally I am more tired of mob rule than most people seem to be.

Obviously the RTP are far from perfect. The legal system though operates efficiently enough.

Those claiming to know that this case is a stitch up, and that "everyone knows" who the "real killers are" know no such thing.

I have watched people claim Sean did it... People related to the headman did it... The 2 Burmese men were physically incapable of doing it. That Sean was wearing a push knife around his neck... That obviously doctored pictures proved that the man with the ring did it.... That they knew what caused the wounds. That a hoe could not cause the wounds...

The list is almost endless.

My stance from the beginning has been to let the courts decide. That I think they probably have the killers. That in the end, justice will actually prevail.

If you don't agree.. Cool. If you have to resort to personal attacks then obviously your argument is based on emotions and not facts.

The police themselves said David was not killed with a hoe.

The police themselves said David dna was not on the hoe.

It was only when the burmese could not answer what weapon they used on David. That the police suggested it was the hoe.they have done this to themselves.

Why do you selectively believe the police?

Why do you think the court system will sort it out. When without question ignoring this case specifically Thailand is systematically corrupt.

Of course the courts will decide , they already have!

You clearly have no idea about the efficiency of the legal system as stated.

If the 2 Burmese men are acquitted or charges never filed, what will you say?

Care to answer regarding selective acceptance of RTP statements?

I`d say hurrah! Then hope top brass, involved in the perfect investigation, move themselves to inactive posts.

As to selective RTP statements, I think he was using them to point out glaring contradictions in most of their bizarre statements. Are you going to jump ship like the prosecutors or are you still full time PR for the indefensible? .

LOL.

If you are going to reply to questions posed to other members you should read the thread.

He stated clearly that the court had already decided.

As I have already made my position clear to you that I am waiting on a verdict.... Well I guess that makes your statement just trash.

Have read the thread jd, even though some posts are long and tedious.Something seems to have gotten up someone`s nose, probably the stench of evil. Waiting for the verdict? If the case is never brought to trial, there wont be one.

BTW Thanks for your invitation to visit the kingdom (your post #666, how appropriate) but I may be a few km down the soi from you already. Or I may be in Singapore looking for that mystery lab eh? A gsh helps keep you sane when faced with Kafkaesque/Orwellian nightmares.

Our paths may have crossed in LOSt sometime during the last 30 years. You may even have met my wife (Thai) of the last 14 years and our daughter but probably will never visit our house in TH.

BTW Catch me if you can, That guy was classic poacher turned gamekeeper. He got off lightly because FBI employed him. Then he launched a very profitable consultancy business with many major banks as clients.

I said that I doubt the EU would agree to extradition for questioning the actions of the honest and hard working RTP. That does not mean I`m in the EU! Misdirection can catch anyone out so don`t be sad. I could even be visiting close relatives in China, Switzerland or Argentina but I aint telling anyone on a public forum because some posters motives are suspect.

If no trial, no verdict to wait for. You forgot to answer that.

"He said he did not think the police would dare do such a thing in a high-profile case like this"
So. that more or less confirms that in other cases it's common practice.

Only an independent DNA test can prove That police is not lying.

If that is not allowed observing the thing is useless.

Could be since the victims bodies are back in UK, they already have DNA samples from so called culprits and victims.... Now to get sampe from 2 that Thai say are confessed killers, and see if there is a match! I believe bodies were sent back to UK be fore they were found, so lets wait and see.

UK Investigators are 5 Star! If they even get close to Headman on Island they can get DNA from anything he touches, and may already have!

I am sure they will have proper equiptment needed to do testing without bothering Thai Investigators. (Without Thai knowing...)

We can assume UK authorities took DNA from the victims, but we don't really know. Thus far there's been no word on that from UK sources. They may have assumed, because the Thai police claimed they took samples, ....that it was covered. Also, I'd like to agree with you that UK specialists (who arrived today) will do what they're trained to do, but I'll have to wax cynical and venture that they won't be allowed to do any meaningful investigation. Reminder: They're here to observe only. Despite the agreement between the 2 PM's from a few days ago (to allow UK investigation), since getting back to Thailand, the Thai PM claimed they only agreed on 'observer' status for the farang experts.

I agree British investigators can be first class. I just read a book of true detective stories from the UK. In one case, an inspector went to visit a suspect. The inspector noticed a roll of tape behind a bookshelf. That tape proved to be key clue in solving the case. Could you imagine a Thai investigator thinking along those lines? A Thai investigator might see a bloody knife out behind a bush in a suspected murderer's back yard and would probably dismiss it as insignificant. Or he would pick up the knife (without rubber gloves) and the murder suspect would immediately jump up, snatch it way and say, "disregard that knife. I killed a hog with it this morning. Here's 2,000 baht. Forget about the knife, it's nothing." And the cop would say; How about 5,000, and I forget I saw it?

The victims were autopsied in Thailand. Then most likely embalmed to be repatriated to the UK. There's no reason to expect that any residual DNA would remain on the corpses.

The rest of your scenario violates international and UK law (not to mention Thai law). No way it would happen.

Yes of course. British detectives are top notch. And can be operating covert...

Interesting new info on CSI LA.

Very true, however the Metropolitan Police (who police London) are the force usually tasked by National Government when this sort of thing happens. Their Detective arm, colloquially known as "Scotland Yard" is therefore the nearest thing the UK has to a national police detective force.

Edited to add that I have replied to the wrong post, and can't work out how to get rid of it! It should be a comment on #673. Maybe some kind mod.....

What would they want to operate covertly about in Thailand? Finding ways to use a tablespoon of MSG in noodle soup, instead of a teaspoon's worth?

Ok, upon further reflection, I see your gist. You may be alluding to doing detective work which digs deeper (or follows alternative leads) than Thai investigators. It would seem that: if the Brits' role is defined as only allowed to be 'observers' , then they don't have much latitude to pursue some of things which have been mentioned on these public forums. Such as:

>>> getting a better idea of the murder weapon which killed David

>>> getting thorough phone (and email) history of headman's people

>>> thorough check for injuries on all suspects, including headman's people. Interesting that cops said they thoroughly checked the Burmese THREE TIMES, and claimed didn't find any injuries.

>>> finding out which of the headman's people had the type of weapon used to kill David.

>>> taking a close look at the 'alibi' security footage which Nomsod's lawyer produced.

>>> looking closely at security camera footage from the night of the crime. (Thus far, cops have only seen what they want to see, which is anything which might implicate the Burmese). Also: interviewing any and all of Nomsod's friends who might have known anything about his whereabouts that evening. Example from CSI LA site: Nomsod's girlfriend in Bangkok supposedly claims he wasn't in Bangkok on the night of the murders.

>>> examining the 'found mobile phone' evidence, which has switched every which way but true.

>>> taking a closer look at the hoe.

>>> re-constructing scene at AC bar that evening.

>>> finding and interviewing witnesses at AC bar (and beach) from that evening.

>>> getting DNA from Nomsod and others of the headman's people.

>>> research recent history of all suspects' (including headman's peoples') involvement in crime, in date-rape (with or without drugs) and other types of violence.

>>> investigating speed boat operators.

>>> interview Sean.

....and a dozen other things that Thai cops either aren't doing or have screwed-up or are covering up.

They can't be "operating covert" legally and would not only risk arrest but also creating an actual international incident.

It can't have escaped your attention JD, the international incident started happening weeks ago.

Read what is written. "legally"

I have no problem with my reading ability thank you (and I can do it without moving my lips)

I made no comment about the legality or illegality of anything. (that looks like your job)

It is already an international incident, pure and simple.

Perhaps you didn't read the reply I made nor the post I replied to?

If you had you would have seen that I was replying to someone who suggested that the UK police were involved in an active investigation illegally :)

The british aren't going to be snooping around anywhere. But, I am sure they will be asking the local police some quite uncomfortable questions about how they have worked.

It always surprises me the number of people who believe without reservation, statements from the media which come from un-named sources.

Why would the initial report on this subject have to come from an un-named source?

Every time I read or hear this, especially from a government source, I can smell the cow pastures..................wink.png

Anyway, a word of warning to the British observers, unless they are fluent in the Thai language bring your own translators. I would imagine their range of involvement would be to observe, clarify and report only. I very much doubt they will be 'hands-on' in any way or form

How about this report - the named source must surely be considered as trustworthy? Perhaps he will be called upon to explain his words: for example how did he 'un-see' cctv footage?

A post requesting donations has been removed.

I'm sure Andy Hall can do this fundraising by himself, but we cannot continue to break TVF rule . . .
