Watching City play without Aguero is like watching porn without sound.

Quite JD, hopelessly reliant on Aguero. Pellegrini must be wrapping him up in cotton wool between games. I don't want to sound too harsh but if you took City Aguero out of the equation i think Bayern might well have won comfortably. Its all about him. i also don't think your manager seems to have many answers to the unanswered questions. Just a case of Aguero getting him out of the proverbial.

No it isn't PREM-R. We are also without two other key influential players, Silva and Toure. Take them all out of the equation and of course we will struggle. Aguero only played in 23 premier league games last year and although we missed him when he was injured, guess what....we still won the premier league. That doesn't suggest we are a one man team does it.

I think to be fair Carms, any team would struggle against Bayern, with or without key players missing. You only needed to look at our bench last night to see the limited options that Pellegrini had at his disposal.

The CSK - Roma draw was a good result for us. We need to do our bit now...............but it's gonna be hard

I got to disagree, BJ. And the commentators were saying the same thing about a draw between Roma and CSK was a good result for City. It wasnt, because now the outcome is NOT in our hands. Had Roma won, then we beat Bayern and we beat Roma, we are through. Simple as that. With the draw, then even if City beat Roma, if CSK beat Bayern, THEY are through.

Rumenigge and his kronies hate City with a vengeance. It wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if Bayern roll over against CSK .

To be Bayern you need pace and mobility in your forward and attacking three...........or just an Aguero, on a a handful of players that could have pulled that off last night

Three shots allowed, three goals and all amidst an incompetent City side. i don't rate Bayern as i used to because you can see their big vulnerability against real pace.

Real Madrid destroyed Bayern and i fancy them to do the same again.

I’ve been having trouble all morning trying to understand why City with equal points but better goal difference (-1) to CSKA’s and Roma’s (-4) are being shown bottom the group and not 2nd in the group.

The Mail (still banned in Thailand) explains the combinations for the next round of games:

What we know...

  • If CSKA Moscow lose to Bayern and Man City beat Roma, City go through
  • If CSKA Moscow draw and Man City win, then City also go through
  • If CSKA Moscow draw and Man City draw, then City are out due to CSKA's superior head-to-head record against City.

Are you with us so far...?

  • If CSKA Moscow win in Munich, City are out, again due to CSKA's head-to-head record
  • If Man City lose in Rome, City are out and Roma are through

Here's where it gets tricky...

If CSKA Moscow lose and Man City draw, it goes to a head-to-head battle between City and Roma — their game at the Etihad finished 1-1.

  • If the teams draw 0-0, then Roma would go through based on their better head-to-head away goals record
  • If the teams draw 1-1, they will finish on identical head-to-head records so City go through on their superior goal difference in the group
  • If the teams draw 3-3 or higher, City go through

Never mind "other key influential players", the stats suggest that City, without Aguero, are really struggling, 24 Premier league goals in total, 12 for Aguero and next highest scorer, Jovetic with 3. 7 Champions league goals in total, 5 for Aguero and next highest scorer, Milner and Toure with 1 each.

City without Aguero is like Liverpool without Suarez, so where will he go, Barca, Real or maybe Bayern?

Yeah, your'e right about what the draw means Jack.

My worry now with all the permutations involved, is about finishing third.

What on earth are you on about with the "stats suggest' rubbish. I have given you facts. Aguero was missing for a big part of the season last year and we still won it. So no, City without Aguero are not like Liverpool without Suarez.

George Glendon.

Doubt he'll get a run out but as we were talking about earlier, we knew the bench would be thin

Midfielder

Date of birth: 03 May 1995

Place of birth: Manchester, England

Son of former City midfielder Kevin Glendon, George has already achieved a lot since joining the Academy. With his lineage, it’s little surprise that this talented youngster is a devoted City fan and seasoncard holder.

A diminutive, deceptively strong midfielder, capable of weighing in with vital goals, Glendon has enjoyed a taste of continental football in the EDS team for the NextGen Series over the last couple of seasons.

The tireless Manchester-born player starred in City’s successful AIFJC2012 tournament triumph in Abu Dhabi, playing a key role in their final win over Inter Milan.

George attended Kingsway School in Cheadle and has represented England at under-17 level.

He has very recently agreed terms on a new five-year deal which will run until 2019 - so he ain't going no where, and he clearly doesn't want to go anywhere else!

So Aguero doesn't have an agent then?

I haven't a clue where we'd finish.

I honestly don't know what you are getting at here. You called us a "one man team" and I merely proved to you that we aren't. Would we miss Aguero? Darn right we would, he's bladdy marvellous. We missed him last year but other players stepped up to the plate. If he hadn't have been injured maybe we would have romped it last year, who knows.

No i wasn't saying they are a one man team. That would be stupid.

They have a world class striker, currently at the top of his game who had a blinder when the rest of the team had a off day. it means simply that. A performance like that is achieved by the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and very few others. Three chances, three goals. Don't knock the team so much as admire Aguero. However, as i said earlier i thought City as a team were somewhat of a shambles "on the night."

If you want to talk about one man teams then take yourself back to Maradona at his peak. Best player i've ever seen.

Currently with or without Aguero i think we will not be champions, but if Chelsea have a bad run like Utd 3 years ago and like Arse/Scousers/Chelski did last year and we hang in there, then maybe just maybe.

How would City fans take to a swap deal: Aguerro for Messi?

Is this a trick question?

If we could swap Messi for Aguero, yes i would swap. Think Messi is on another level (more of an allround player/goalscorer).

exactly. Theres Messi and Ronaldo, then the others, a select few but on a slightly different tier

Won't happen. KUN and Messi are good buddies. If there are any transfers in the future involving Messi it would more likely lead to them being on the same club.coffee1.gif
