"Kyle Walker is poised to become the world’s most expensive defender and the costliest English player of all time" proof that football has gone mad.

Poised to become more like poisoned. Bad move for any defender  that and what a stonker of a fee too. Mugged.

For Walker, City have issued a briefing to the press today, stating that they will pay an initial £45million, to be paid in instalments. That will be followed by a maximum of £5million in add-ons based on his successes in the Premier League and Champions League

Crazy amount of money for a defensively weak right wing back I am happy to say.

If they have issued that briefing to the press then why are The Independent reporting this :

The Times understands that City have agreed to pay Spurs an initial fee of £45 million. In 12 months’ time, City will pay the London club an instalment of £5 million, with another £4 million due in add-ons

Performances of the <20 squad back this up. Not doing too badly with a World Cup Final in an hour or so. All top clubs represented except City...even tho the coach is an ex MC player!

Two City representatives in the U19 Final wilai. Lukas Nmecha (scored in the final minute against Czech) and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts

The money means nothing at your club anyway so fair play.

Its what Levy wanted however, let's see what he does with it.

Sign a big time striker Ronnie. Add $50mil to the Walker $50mil and scoop up that Monaco teenager. Think big. Go for the jugular. Get Levy snockered.:cowboy:

^ Regarding the comment above "Performances of the <20 squad back this up. Not doing too badly with a World Cup Final in an hour or so. All top clubs represented except City...even tho the coach is an ex MC player!".

Seems in the <20 squad that Liverpool had 2 players (Ojo and Ejaria) and City none, while "players have also been called up to the England U-20 squad and remain eligible" City had 1 player (Roberts) and Liverpool none.

Seems for the <19 squad that City have 2 players (Nmecha and Buckley-Rickets) and Liverpool none, while "players have also been called up to the England U-19 squad and remain eligible" City had 1 player (Humphreys) and Liverpool 2 (Kane & Alexander-Arnold).

Looks pretty same same to me!

Just off my head can't think of any Italian defenders in PL. I'm sure some obscure chaps about but top level Italian defenders?

The black lad at West Ham. Oggbona? Played in last years Euros. Darmian from Man Utd also played in the Euros. Is he still at OT?

So, are Citeh's central defenders quick enough and possess the tactical nous to cover your new right back's forays up the wing?

I still remember how shaky he looked back in our first CL campaign.

50m odd quid gents I am truly amazed!

Watched the u19s win last night. Nmecha looks decent, a no.9. Buckley-Rickets had a decent first half out wide right but then faded 2nd half. Chelsea's Mount as no.10 took the eye. He set up Nmecha's winner after a terrible own goal had levelled it (OG worth checking out). All players from both sides looked very competent players. Fulham's Sessignon is the most well known player at this level but had a poor game. Chelsea had the most players in the squad. Don't think tgere were any Liverpool or ManU players. Good summer for England's kids.

Sevilla and Manchester City have reached a total agreement for the transfer of winger Nolito. Sevilla had wanted Nolito on loan but in the end, the Andalusian club decided on a permanent deal. Nolito made 30 appearances in all competitions last season for Manchester City, scoring 6 goals. After a bright start to his stay in England, he suddenly fell out of favour with Pep Guardiola in the New Year, losing his place to Leroy Sané and rarely featuring in the second half of the season.

For a while he looked decent but ultimately once Pep realised playing Sane on his natural leftside was most effective for him, Nolito lost his place to Sane, who's establishment as a firstchoice along with that of Jesus, was the biggest plus last season.

City have confirmed the signing of Brazil under-20 international midfielder Douglas Luiz from Vasco Da Gama on a five-year contract.City paid a fee of around €13million (£11.4million). Girona thought to be the most likely loan destination.

Pleasing to see we are now discovering south american youngsters. Girona (soon to be bought?) and Breda beginning to look like City nursery teams.

Says exactly what all City fans think!

Man City transfers are treated differently to Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba - why?

Kyle Walker's move from Tottenham has been met with howls of outrage but shouldn't we let history be the judge of value?
