Boyfriend, wife of slain Japanese man face charges as mutilated body found

Featured Replies

Police found several suspicious withdrawals from the missing man’s bank account over the past two weeks, with a total of more than B700,000, taken out in 14 transactions.

Gotta love Thai reporting. The man was dead, 'suspicious' doesn't come into it.

This is the downside...of a relationship with a Thai...you never know how they are going to react when you tell them it is over...been chased by a knife wielding Thai female myself...not any fun...

He (and his family) also deserve full sympathy and condolences for their tragic loss, his magnanimous comments towards the Thai people are both welcome and admirable, they are (under these circumstances) generous and kind.

Horrific crime against a weak and defenceless elderly person. The son should have dissuaded his old man from marrying a whore half his age in a foreign country with a reputation for such crime. But if he has been quoted correctly, he wishes to follow his father and come here when he is old.

Unusual for japan man to be involved in bf gf non-sense. Or is it?

No, Japanese are no different from farang in that sense. Or lack thereof.

Earlier the sl*t insisted that they didn't kill him. What happened now? It's pay time.

On a side note i wish the same level of efficiency in the koh tao case.

For a change, the officers in charge of this case seem to have a little more sense than usual. "Pol Lt Gen Rueangsak questioned both suspects himself and had doctors examine their bodies to prevent any possible subsequent allegation that they were beaten and forced to confess."

In the U.S. recent events have increased public awareness of the need to have all interrogations videotaped. Unfortunately there are still states which make it a crime to photograph police in the performance of their duty, like shooting citizens.

"Charges of restraining freedom and forced larceny," I guess murder isn't enough. coffee1.gif

Why any older guy with money can have a considerably younger gf telling him he is a hand-sum man.. meanwhile sharpening her knives before going in for the kill as that way she will have faster access to the cash and does not have to keep telling the guy he is hansum and faking it all the time.

Does not matter if your white / asian / black we can all fall for it. Relationships where people give monthly allowances to the other party and stuff are risky because you attract someone with money and they just might figure out a way to get it without needing you.

Far safer to rent a girl for the night if you want a younger play thing.

Spot on the money robbo.

Why on earth would an older man want to be with a woman half his age?

Madness?

Anyway here's another victim, he 88, she 23. And may they enjoy connubial bliss until the end.

Perhaps she's after his money?

I can never get my head around it either. How could you be happy looking into eyes that say "why don't you just hurry up and f'ing die so I can get the money and stop having to walk around Tesco with my granddad every day".

More salt on those chips honey? Another double whisky, perhaps? No, the bathroom floor isn't wet at all...

The RTP bashing we have seen on all too many threads is definitely not warranted here, the investigation seems to have been thorough and professional. As has been mentioned earlier in the thread it must have required great fortitude to take a plunge in that water to search for and recover the body, even for a Thai with a higher level of resistance to local parasites and infections, the risk of catching something must be high.

The divers involved, and the police officers too, deserve credit for their efforts and the result.

The poor victims son deserves some privacy when returning to Japan with his father's remains, this is what I believe he was asking for.

ur kindness is welomed by me.thxx for that.looks like a decent response from a decent person.my oh my, could do with more of ur kind on here.

It was reported today (23/10/14) in the Thai press that Mrs Khekko Matta, the daughter of Mr Khatsuetochi Thanaka, has asked the Thai police to reopen the case into her father's death. Khatsuetochi Thanaka was a former husband of Pornchanok Chaiyapa, and died in mysterious circumstances after allegedly falling down some stairs back in 2003. They had one child together. At the time the death was ruled as an accident brought on by his heart condition. Pornchanok was the beneficiary of Thanaka's 3 million Baht life insurance policy.

In police custody today before the press: husband and wife Somchai Kaeobangyang and Pornchanok Chaiyapa, accused of the murder of 79 year-old Japanese language teacher Yochinori Shimato.

BANGKOK, Oct 23 -- Thai police are about to have the couple charged with killing a 79-year-old Japanese man conduct a reenactment to back their confession.

Soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry Division handed Pornchanok Chaiyapa and her husband Somchai Kaewbangyang to Pol Lt Gen Rueangsak Jarit-ek, acting deputy national police chief, at the Metropolitan Police Bureau today.

The suspects were detained under martial law following their arrest Sunday in Ang Thong province.

The two were brought before the eyes of the media for the first time.

They confessed to killing Japanese-language teacher Yoshinori Shimato, dismembering his body, putting his body parts in bags and sinking them in a canal in Bang Bo district of Samut Prakan province.

At the request of the police, rescue workers retrieved all the bags from the canal.

Mr Shimato had gone missing since Sept 21 and both suspects reportedly admitted to the killing on that day.

Pol Lt Gen Rueangsak questioned both suspects himself and had doctors examine their bodies to prevent any possible subsequent allegation that they were beaten and forced to confess.

The reenactment will take place at the Ms Pornchanok's house and at the canal where they disposed of the victim's body parts. (MCOT online news)

What is up with all of these "re-enactments?"

This is the stuff of tabloids

Quote:

"Following Mr Tanaka’s death, Ms Pornchanok claimed B3 million in life insurance

(...)
She was later released on B100,000-baht bail by the Criminal Court, and then fled"

psss.. try again Sirs.. sure you can spot where the problem lies

(edited to make clues harder to miss)

RIP to the Japanese man. LIfe sentence for the other two

It is wrong to assume that all relationships involving older / younger couples in Thailand are based on money. I know .of several where the younger person works and is for the most part financially independent of their older partner . They may be few and far between however there are many genuine gerontophiles in Thailand who are in loving, nurturing relationships with older men.

The Russians really are the smartest Foreign Expats in LOS. They simply enjoy (only) the Thai physical infrastructure, the Immigration visa policies, the weather, and the cost of living indexes. Periodcoffee1.gif

She (gf) probably claimed the taxi-driver was her "cousin", assuming that the japan old boy knew of the taxi-driver's existence, to begin with.whistling.gif

Makes sense, good business. Still profit 600k
