I was on KPA in 92....it was awful due to the beeps and squeeze music brigade so I returned to the mainland. However, I would not ban those parties. A lot of people have a lot of fun there. Good for them.

By all means keep the party at Had Rin. It stops the dread heads going to other beaches and ruining them as well.

The locals set it all up. They currently facilitate the fun and get well paid for it. No it is not to my taste but it is a big earner for the locals who before had nothing but hard labour fishing and coconut harvesting. What do you expect young people to do - Listen to Einer Klein Nachtmusik?

Well, don't get me wrong, he's not all wrong, there are excesses and commonality in many of the farangs who run off the tracks here.

I was there too with my ponytail and indian hippy gear on dancing to the song of the moment by a Glaswegian band - .It was great - hallucinogenic omelettes and amphetamines being sold as uniformed police watched. Tranquilizers being sold at the drug store for the comedown.

That might be true. Do you think the local mafia cares about Thai customs? Curious how many party goers understand that they support a mafia . Thank God it would never be allowed in places like Burma or Malaysia. Laos finally had enough sense to shut down the bars in Vang Vieng after complaints from the locals , many tourists and even other countries. It is only a matter of time before the same happens with the Full Moon Party.

I've been to the parties many times. The problems are that they arw mafia run, with lots of scams and littering. If they were properly regulated then they'd be a lot safer and cleaner. If you don't like the parties, don't go to KPN. Simple.
