Newly-set up Mobile Water Information units will lead to greater accuracy in water analysis

BANGKOK, 25 October 2014 (NNT) – Dr. Royol Chitradon, Director of Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute talked in this week’s TV program entitled “Thailand Moves Forward” about the setting-up of a center called Mobile Emergency Response Units for Water Information Analysis.

The center has been established with a budget of 90 million baht. It comprises four cars which will travel around the country to gather water-related data. The information will be used for predicting water situation and finding ways to solve droughts. Each mobile car or unit is completed with computer sets, air-conditioning system, working space and the electricity supplying system. Each unit, with specialists, will move immediately into areas where heavy rains with possible disasters are predicted.

The new center will also include radio-controlled boats, unmanned aerial vehicles and small planes, all of which will help in improving the accuracy of data analysis and lead to an effective solution to water and drought crises.

great idea all that for 90 mill my estimate would be nearer double doesn't seem to leave much room for running costs

Definitely. Watershed management needs to be a top priority for Thailand's development. We run out of water more and more in the village, ghastly situation at times.
