Does anyone have a list of the latest "loaded for bear" / over the top list of requirements of things hat need to be done and-or presented when applying for a marriage extension please?

Is the extension usually granted same day?

I have heard the wife neds to be present?

Examples of de jure and de facto that (you) have used.

Photo outside of our flat with...office mgmt staff in office or security guards outside bldg?

Married 2.5 years, any difference or more positive vibe when applying?

What questions might wife expect? Married 2.5years, togther 5 years. Has ten year visa to USA, impressve job.

How much time might this take?

Thanks.

When you apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage you will be given a under consideration stamp with a report back date that is 30 days from when you apply or the end of your permit to stay date. The application must be approved at the division level. At the end of the 30 you will need to go back to immigration to get the extension stamp.

For the first extension they will also do a home visit during the 30 days.

You wife must go with you when you make the application to do a statement.
If you are living in an apartment or condo you only need a photo of both of you under or beside its number. Nothing more outside it. The remainder will be inside.

You will need a completed TM7 application form with an attached 4cm X 6cm photo.

Marriage certificate and a copy. Copy of Kor Ror 2 marriage registry.

Copies of you wife's house book and ID card.

Proof of residence.

Map to your apartment or condo.

For the first extension they could also ask for copy of the affirmation of permit to marry you gave to the Amphoe when you got married.

Copies of your a passport photo page, visa, entry/permitted to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

Proof of 400k baht in the bank for 60 days by way of a bank letter or proof of 40k baht income.

Sorry to trouble again, so on the thirty days. Should I make this say 45 days before the visa actually expires so as to account for their slacking, a visit and potentially ??? a rejection for whatever ridiculous reason...Which would then give me time to hit Savan for a visa. I'd be doing this end Dec-Jan so this would presumably be busiest time of year for them as well.

If there is some paperwork not to their liking, willl they contact you or is this done when I front up in thirty days?

Would all the docs go back in for anoher thirty or what happens then?

Bank book with letter from bank from that morning in Chaeng Wattana?

I saw something Kor Ror 2 and KR3 - what is KR3?

Do I need to update the KR2 at the Amphoe?

So, photos of us in front of the apartment and then inside as well? Seems so silly, we have literally hundreds of photos together over past five years. Whatever.

Thank you

You can apply up to 45 days early at CW-road, and are advised to do it well before the current extension expires.

If paperwork not complete they will tell you when you apply for the extension. If they find out later, they will call you and tell you to send it to them ASAP.

K.R 3 is the flowery wedding certificate

K.R 2 is the entry into the wedding register, you can get a new one at any amphur for 20 baht.

Photo outside the apartment should have house number visible.

In Bangkok I think they do the 30 days from the date you apply.

If they accept your application and do the under consideration stamp the application will normally be approved. If they wanted something more they would call you during the 30 days. If your application was denied you would be given 7 days to leave the country.

They will contact you to set up the home visit.

Best to get the letter and bank book updated on the day you apply at CW.

If doing the money the the bank option you need to keep the 400k in the bank until the extension is approved.

The Kor Ror 3 is your marriage certificate.

Past reports indicate that CW does not ask for an updated Kor Ror 2. But my advice would be to get an updated one. It can be obtained at any Amphoe/Khet in just a few minutes and only costs 20 baht.

Just one photo of you and the wife in front of the door showing the number would be needed. Just 3 or 4 inside the apartment together should be enough.

I have not heard of anyone having a home visit for years, In fact nakon phatom immigration stated they do not do them any more the same with nonthaburi.

Home visits are still be done at many offices for the first extension. There have been reports of this.

Some have started asking people to bring a neighbor or two as witnesses instead of the home visit.

Thailand is big, with many different Immigration offices. Not all do things the same exact way.

Thanks, appreciated.

We have lots of photos together over course of five years. Should I bring these? Same as I will be submitting for US CR1 visa. Do they keep the photos?

Still, photos in the apartment I guess.

They don't want long term proof of relationship. They just want to see that you living together as husband and wife now.

They will keep the photos for their records.

I print out the pics on A4 size paper. My office is happy with 4 photos. Two outside the house and 2 inside (2 per sheet of A4),

Thanks.

Honestly, I don't anticipate one if they are not always carried iut as routine. We have a long history of being together and my wife has a solid job and is very presentable.

Anyway... IF a visit is required,

Will I ...

be notified?

be required to be present?

wife required to be present?

required to answer any questions on visit?

might I be waiting around for the entire day (wife?)?

Can they just go to the office and ask whatever they need to?

I will be including a letter stating from apt mgmt we have been in the flat for four years.

Anyway, how should/can I prepare, what to expect.

BANGKOK.

Thanks.

If they make a home visit they will call to set up the best time for it.

You both should be present for the visit.

They may ask a few questions.

Go to what office?

Thanks Joe.

Wow. First, last time I go this route and this is an annual thing. Not a care about inconveniencing both of us, four days of work gone between two persons potentially.

Id rather just do the runners...

I will spend hours longer, plus the wife to make an annual visa , than it had taken my wife to present herself for a ten year visa to US.

Just another reason for us to move on.

Thx again.

Went to apply for my second year marriage extension.

Had all the required documents, but didn't have a witness (with copy of ID & house reg). I was under the impression it was only for the first year extension a witness was required?

Fortunately, after some phoning around, my wife managed to locate someone in town, near Udon immigration. The helpful IO said we need to bring a witness (who is not immediate family) every year, so now we know.

Regarding the letter from the bank: In the past I have always taken a copy of the previous year's letter into the Siam Commercial bank for them to copy, often the staff haven't been too sure of what to write. (I used to have a retirement extension for a number of years, before changing to marriage.)
This year I gave them a copy of the letter again. The girl told me they now have a template they can refer to, as well as providing a printed statement of my account for the relevant time period. The bank is moving forward, albeit slowly!

(edit)

Forgot to mention that  I applied a month before the expiry date. I have been given a two month under consideration stamp,. I queried why I had two months, and not the usual one month. The IO said if the approval was slow coming back, it saved her having to give another stamp, although I was free to check after the first month anyway.

The IO also removed my 90 day receipt, saying just to do it when I get the extension approval and there was no problem with that.

If it did go to the latest date possible before the approval comes through, it would make me over a week late, so I think I'll check after one month and ask about 90 day reporting then.
