Courts issue arrest warrants for suspects in Deep South attacks

YALA, 27 October 2014 (NNT)-Police are going after 100 suspects in the Deep South, who allegedly are said to have coordinated the attacks in the region.


Security remains tight in Yala province to keep the situation under control. According to the report, the courts in the restive South have issued arrest warrants for 100 suspects who have been accused by authorities of instigating violence in the region.

Police also believe the suspects have led their teams in carrying out attacks in various locations.

Among them are Mr. Roh Ki Dollah, who has allegedly been involved in an explosion and a gun attack in Yala, Mr. Sa-u-dee Sta Poh for planting a bomb in Yaha district, and Mr. Hu-Bai-Dee-Lah Roh-Mue-Lee for the gun attack on a bus serving the route between Betong and Hat Yai.

Thailand plans more bicycle lanes at tourist sites

BANGKOK, Oct 27 -- In an effort to promote tourism in Thailand's provinces and encourage more people to ride bicycles, two ministries have assigned government agencies to gather information on safely designing and building bicycle lanes and tourism destinations, according to Soithip Trisuddhi, Permanent Secretary for Transport.

PM beefs up complaint centre for efficient and speedy problem solving

Thailand attends Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union

BANGKOK 27 October, 2014 (NNT) - The Deputy Secretary General of the House of Representatives has led a group of civil servants from the National Assembly Radio and Television Broadcasting Station to attend the 51st assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in Macau, China.


Mrs. Saitip Chawalidtawin, the Deputy Secretary General of the House of Representatives, led a group of civil servants from the National Assembly Radio and Television Broadcasting Station to attend the 51st assembly of the ABU, held during October 21 to 28, 2014. The opening ceremony took place on October 27 at the Conrad Hotel in Macau.

The ABU assembly was established in 1964, with the purpose of developing the broadcasting industry. There are currently 255 stations from 63 member nations participating in the event. The National Assembly Radio and Television Broadcasting Station first attended the assembly in 2012.

A contaminated lake is poisoning a Thai village

Though the mine closed 40 years ago, the area has become home a polluted artificial lake that overflows during the rainy season.

PM: Thailand Reform Institute has nothing to do with government

Former Pheu Thai MP Prasit pleads guilty to lese majesty

BANGKOK: -- Former Pheu Thai MP Prasit Chaisisa Monday pleaded guilty to lese majesty charges.


He submitted a 32-page statement to Criminal Court, admitting that he had insulted His Majesty the King while he spoke at a red-shirt rally on May 7 and he is now filled with remorse.

The court scheduled to hand down a sentence on December 3. The court ordered probation officials to check Prasit’s background that the court would consider for the sentence.

EGAT seeks cooperation in floating sky lanterns to keep off power lines

Cabinet to approve new DSI chief appointment Tuesday

BANGKOK: -- Justice Minister Gen Paiboon Koomchaya said he has nominated a new director-general of the Department of Special Investigation for the Cabinet to approve during the weekly meeting on Tuesday.


He said the Cabinet will also be asked to approve the new chief of the Juvenile Observation and Protection Department.
