Secretariat of the House of Representatives issues iPads for NRC members

BANGKOK, 28 October 2014 (NNT) – The Secretariat of the House of Representatives announced that it would issue iPad tablets for members of the National Reform Council (NRC) for the purpose of conducting research and finding references during their work.

Mr. Jarae Panprueng, the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, affirmed that the iPad tablets that were issued are not newly bought devices but rather the old devices that have been returned by the previous members of the house.

The office had reinstalled new software into the new devices and would pay for each device’s monthly internet fee of up to 300 Baht. NRC members have until the November 7th to pick up a device.

The loony knockers are in for their chop as usual.

I suppose they might as well make use of these things that have been sitting around doing nothing, after all the previous administration spent how many millions, or was it billions, getting them and giving them out.

I would hope this lot will make better use of them than the last lot who were caught watching porn and playing games.

Wasn't there a story some time back about those from a certain party who hadn't returned theirs, wonder if the eventually did ?

The ones which have been recuperated from the previous MPs, I presume? Oh, No!? New ones? OK, OK, mai pen rai, I didn't realise you could get 10 of those for the price of a single microphone, seen like that it's a good deal... Ah, the end price has not been finalised yet. But they have been delivered last week, isn'it? I know, I know, it's not my business and it's not my money! But, wait a minute, it is my money, it's yours it is not!

I would change the "looney knockers" to include the idiots as well. Case in point a few comments above about the generals completing oblivious to the fact that the NRC is not comprised of generals. Thread after thread no matter what the topic is full of this uniformed garbage.

But then again when several of the looney knockers on this site setting examples with betting on how many Army personnel would be on the NRC long before it was even selected what does one expect...ridiculous egg on face. The amount of people on this site who post garbage, who don't take responsibility for their garbage as they move onto another thread to post more garbage in their perceived superiority ridicule of Thai's and Thailand shows who the really ridiculous are. Thailand certainly does attract a higher than average share of the dredges of western society.

Agreed. The pro-Red Shirts Thaksinistas are loony.

Thais still used pirated software and universities still copy textbooks for sale of the copies to students.

Case in point.

There's been no indication whatsoever that the iPads purchased by the Pheu Thai Party government utilize pirated software.

They kicked up a stink when Yingluk was going to issue then and they have seized the country they do exactly the same. Let the hypocrisy and corruption continue. Same old dog just different fleas.

And let the ignorance of the apologists continue.

The cheap Chinese knock-off tablet scam that was a lie by Yingluck's government with saying they were going to give one to every student in the country is completely unrelated to the iPads that were given to Parliament members and that this thread is about.

When she was "going" to issue them, she did issue them.

And these are the same ones you silly bugger.

They are making use of something that has been sitting around doing nothing.

Heck I suspect they will even be given the same chairs to sit in as the previous lot.

Oh, and they can't pay for their own?

Surely, most have a car and driver and probably top end computers in their home and office.

Don't these people have enough money to buy an iPad?

apparently needs to be reiterated:

the iPad tablets that were issued are not newly bought devices but rather the old devices that have been returned by the previous members of the house.
