CMKiwi
There is also an electronics shop down Chaing Moi Rd (1 way street from the moat heading to Wararot market) its the shop on the right before a motorcycle helmet shop and before Soi 2. The owner speaks very good english and if he doesnt stock what you need he will point you in the right direction. Very big supply of heat shrink tube at very low price..... upto 6mm tube just 5 baht a length, sure beats Amorn s price of 14 baht for a half length. Tywais
Your correct. I visited several shop and found zero inventory. I order from this company very often for my design work at the university and the service and delivery has been very good. element14 Thailand There is another local shop that my technician often gets parts from and will ask the name and location. Not sure what you mean by 'zero inventory' as Kitti stocks a lot of active/passive components as we get them regularly from there.

The Singapore website is in English, the order codes are the same so I do the part searches on the Singapore site then use the order code to order through the Thai site for delivery to Thailand.I also use tayda electronics http://www.taydaelectronics.com for some parts, English website, located in Bangkok 99c delivery to Chiang mai. They also post promotional codes on the Facebook page. They stock mostly cheap stuff as they seem to cater for hobbyists but can be useful for some things. From the countless number of orders we have placed from them we have never been hit for import duties or significant shipping charges as the shipping address shows up as Bangkok element14. Even when I ordered for my personal use, no duties involved. Possibly due to both being with the AFTA.
dickyknee
I always get hit. I wonder if it's to do with my ordering code process. I'll have to investigate.
Tywais
I always get hit. I wonder if it's to do with my ordering code process. I'll have to investigate. I'm curious also as to why. I would conservatively say our university lab has placed a hundred+ orders from them with no duties. I've placed 3 personal orders from them. My first one I used the Singapore site due to the English as I didn't want to screw up the order, the other two times I ordered from the Thailand site. The Singapore order paperwork was forwarded and filled through the Thailand office.
dickyknee
It could be afta related, as every order I've placed has also included items stocked from either the uk or us warehouse. I wasn't taxed for everything in the order, but it wasn't clear what I was taxed on. It all seems to go to Singapore first, then boxed into 1 package before landing in Thailand. On the website, when searching for components, it only lists stocks in the US, UK or Singapore warehouse which makes me think they don't stock anything in Thailand. All my orders have been personal also, not through a commercial account. Dunno. Either way, element14 are a good source. Our shop keeps a copy of the paper catalog in the bog for reading material.
