Siem Reap ATMs

Featured Replies

I'll be in Siem Reap this week, the currency I'll bring with me from Thailand is THB, plus I have an Aussie ATM card from my CBA bank account. I know in Siem Reap the ATM dispenses USD, so which would be better for me...change THB into USD at banks/money changers or withdraw USD from my Aussie bank at an ATM machine?

Also in Thailand the limit I can withdraw from my Aussie account at a Thailand ATM is 20,000THB, so is there a similar limit on these Cambodian ATMs?

Find a Canadia Bank ATM, they are the only ATM that does not charge in Cambodia for withdrawals. I think the limit is $300 USD, but it may be higher.

Thanks SwanF.

Canadia Bank is great advice. I have yet to see any ATM anywhere in Cambodia that did not dispense dollars for large transactions. I always exchange Thai baht for lots of small dollar bills in LOS before travelling there and strangely enough remember that over $10,000 was the amount that needed to be declared there, so you will be fine with 20k baht. 5 years ago I paid for my visa with 1k baht in PP(airport) and got no change. I did not make that mistake again....
