Computer-whizzkid-410179.jpgGENIUS: Ayan Qureshi has been interested in computers since he was three [Caters]

Ayan Qureshi is now the world's youngest qualified computer specialist after aceing the test.

Tech bosses were so shocked when the pint-sized programmer turned up that they initially told him he could not do the test.

But Ayan, from Coventry, whizzed through the questions at Birmingham City University in September with time to spare.

“He was very interested in computers from the age of three.”
Asim Qureshi

His proud dad, Asim, 43, said: "He has plans to take an advanced test in the future but he has to concentrate on school for now.

"He was very interested in computers from the age of three so I started explaining to him about hardware and software and installing programmes.

"I found that whatever I told him, he was able to remember it the next day, so I built a computer lab in our house for him to use, and he loves it.

"It wasn't easy teaching him every day but he picked it all up in the end."

The test is usually taken before or after university by budding IT programmers.

The schoolboy, now aged six, beat the record set by the previous youngest Microsoft Certified Professional.

Mehroz Yawar, from Pakistan, passed the exam aged six-and-a-half.

Lovely story.... My son is 7 and all he wants to do is play minecraft. We already run several modded servers (and he is picking up quickly on how it all works), now I need to nudge him towards writing plugins. Only problem is, I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag!

With that speed he will pickup the usage of Unix based systems at the age of 18.

Seriously, well done for a young kid.

I think Microsoft used 5 year olds to come up with Win 8.0; then hired some adult programmers to try to fix it. tongue.png

Be interested to know what exam it was, doesnt say much if a 5yr old can pass it.

But IT people cannot tell you anything without asking Google. And they never know what the outside looks like.

It is said many use their computer personalities as a contraceptive

MCP of what though?

Unlikely to be C#, or SQL Server, or even AD... Maybe they have MCP's in how to use Windows without a start menu now? :P

Eh? you make it sound like 'nix is hard.

It shows you how old I'm getting. I assumed MCP was a male chauvanist pig.

Ah, a South Asian hothoused kid, what a surprise. Let's review this in, say, 15 years and see where he is at.
